My scores in Puzzle League are very, very low. I have opened only one extra option. I feel as though I should be better at this game. I was good at Tetris. I played it a lot on my old clunky gray Gameboy. A Friend and I hald our own little Tetris tournament every summer, back when you has to sit really close to one another so the cable could connect the two units. LOL I am also a fan of some Match 3 games and have played them to completion.

I wonder if I am missing something in the rules or scoring for Puzzle League. OKay, I will confess. On "easy" my best score so far is 1,200. I have not even completed the second level of story mode. I cannot seem to get beyond *$% rating in the two minutes (and that is only on some of my better rounds).

Any tips or hints. I might buy an amiibo to give me an extra power. But I think I should be able to score better than this without a power.

I am the same, I spent hours playing tetris but I can't do this one!

It is stupid hard, and I don't know how anyone could possibly be good at this game... It took me forever to pass the second level of easy story mode, but if you just keep trying over and over and over again you can do it! It's really just practice, and you start seeing where combos can be made.

I is too bad that you are struggling with it, but at least I am not alone.

I will keep at it because I really like to complete all the levels of a game. But, wow even moving at a good speed continuously does not seem to be enough.

I was struggling to begin with! But it does get easier the more you play (kind of ). It just take a lot of practise
I've only just got to the end of story mode, impressed by the people who completed all of it already!

It definitely comes down to practice! I remember playing Tetris Attack (a game just like AC Puzzle League) when I was younger and I was not very good at the game. I relied on getting combos instead of chains. Getting chains just seemed impossible... But then after a while it came to me, I started noticing ways to set up chains when the blocks were vanishing, and after a while I was able to beat my older brother who was the best in the house at the time. My skill in Tetris Attack definitely carried over to this game, so I was lucky enough to have it easier than most people. But, trust me, it's only practice that you need! Knowing how to set up chains if VERY important. Being quick at it is also important. I think you can improve!

It takes a bit of practice, but I managed to (barely) get scores for the items, except for the Candy one. I still only get about halfway with that one, lol.

My main issue is that while I'm sometimes okay at combos, I'm not very good at chains, but I'm sure that'll come to me in time.

Yeah, I'm still on easy story mode as well... it's pretty difficult! I do see improvement as I go along, so practice really is the key here! I also recommend turning down the music. It gets really tense if you're nearing the top, and it can really stress you out, it does for me at least.

I'm GREAT at puzzle games, but I am so bad at this game. I've managed to unluck 3/4 minigames on day 1, but I still feel like I'm doing terribly. I can't beat story mode. Button mashing seems get me further and then I get bored and hand cramps.

its easy just take pratice
i remeber being so confused on why i couldnt turn vertical but then i learn i couldnt
i got so much better so fast
i pass stody mode in 1 day
and then kinda hard story mode also in 1 day (but man i wanted isabelle to be fired at that moment

My countless hours of playing Pokemon Puzzle League paid out as soon as I got this minigame. It's very different from Tetris and all about creating combo and chains! But really, practice is where it's at.

I'm pretty decent at it (I mean, I'm not like maxed out points or anything, but I can get the wig on demand if need be). I'm 100% sure it's because this game is closer to Zookeeper than other puzzle games like Tetris, and Zookeeper was my life for a while haha. Anyway, my main tips:
- Never stop moving tiles around. Those few seconds you spend staring at the screen while you're looking for a combo will ruin you. Sometimes, you can get a great chain just by randomly spam-arranging.

- Try to arrange everything into groups. This is a great way to lead into a combo/chain (like have all of your oranges together, that way when you get just one orange block in the right space, you might be able to get a few combos at once).

- Turn the sound off. That stupid sped up music will only stress you out more and cause you to make very simple mistakes.

I personally don't think I'm very good at recognising combos, but I finally hit 10k+ on garbage mode after practising for a few hours. If I got stuck and had used my ability I just switched random blocks quickly all over. It usually triggered combos I didn't notice and helped me see new chains. I think some of it is probably RNG as well, a few runs I had REALLY bad patterns and my games ended early. Just keep trying. :)

I was a bit rubbish when I first started playing puzzle league (I played Pokemon puzzle league first) but as I kept playing, it got so much easier! I cleared story mode on the first day and I've got the flower fairy items now, but I still like to play the little mini games every so often to pass the time or clear my head! (As long as I mute the music, it seriously drives me up the wall when it speeds up when the tower is near the too, it irritates me more than actually losing! I just stick my headphones in and listen to some other music while playing lol!) my only advice is keep on practising! It may be hard at first, but trust me, you will get the hang of it soon enough so you can get those items and meow coupons!

Can't get past the first level. My brother said "Nintendo forgot they made the game for kids..."

PRO TIP I'm terrible at this game and I've beat it. When I get a lot of tiles piling up I just button mash furiously. Like move the joy stick and press a as fast as I humanly can and this clears it out a lot. Use the Y horizontal sweep whenever you can if its points based. Avoid it if it's time based as it wastes time. If it's time based, use B to get the tiles to advance faster to save time, and then mash mash mash. This should at least get you up to the garbage level. Good luck!

I LOVE this mini game, I had to get the 3DS item as soon as I found out it had this game on it. I've been playing Pokemon Puzzle League since I was a kid and it's one of my favorite puzzle games ever! I actually just finished the story mode on hard. Only had trouble with the very last stage, because you have to do chains and 4+ combos, block RNG wasn't really on my side haha.

How do you get the umbrella? I think I got all the items but that.

You actually need to finish the Story Mode within the Kinda Hard difficulty, which is unlocked by completing that mode at least once. What this mode does is that, it makes the game goes even faster and adds an extra colored block type.
