I've noticed in the re-tail section that some people put -online- in the title of their topic.

I'm assuming it's to indicate that they will quickly reply to responses to the topic? Or is it that they are able to do in-game trades right away?

And if they are no longer online, do they edit the title, or should they close or delete the topic?

thanks for any clarification, I don't want to add it to a topic I start until I'm sure of proper usage.

It's perfectly okay for them to list their shop status in the title of the thread. It lets buyers know that the seller is online and willing to trade.

A lot of users do it.

but when you're going to stop, should you delete the topic?

if you don't have -online- in your title can you leave the topic up if you're going to step away from your computer for a couple of hours?

but isn't that rude?
I guess I could leave a reply saying I'm going away but that I'll check later to see if anyone has something from my list they want...
that would work.

You can put -offline- when your gone. Don't delete it only to make a new one. Only delete it when you're out of stock or something.

If they're not online, sometimes they'll change it to Closed or they just leave it. That's a normal thing here.

If you think it's rude, then don't do it. You're thinking too hard about this.

I am Canadian, there is no such thing as being too worried about seeming rude :P

Hmmm...
okay, but when I tried to edit the first post of a topic I made, I couldn't change the title.
Do I do something other than hit the "edit post" button, or am I missing something basic, which tbh, is entirely possible.

You click "Advance editing".
