I'm having trouble growing purple pansies. I know you need to grow a red hybrid pansy first. But what does it look like?

I might've accidently threw it in the trash can, without knowing it was a hybrid.

I'm using the combination Red, Orange and Blue pansies.

Unfortunately, the hybrid reds are identical to the regular reds. It's really important to know exactly where you put them, because your villagers are going to come along and put regular reds right alongside them. Your neighbors are soooo helpful:/ Do you have reds touching that bottom line of blues? I'm assuming that pattern continues with another row of reds?

I actually found these harder than the blue roses. I did focus on only one hybrid at a time, and these were one of the last. Perhaps they weren't harder but I was just becoming more impatient. One additional thing I found helpful was to clump all of my other flowers together and then surround them with dropped coins or patterns so that only the area I focused on was able to throw any hybrids. Even though my villagers watered the other flowers, it prevented them from taking chances away from my hybrids.

This is the pattern:

It does not repeat.

OK. Just wanted to be sure everyone had a red next to them:) Good luck!

I finally got these, but it did seem like it took forever. I only did blue/red to get a hybrid red. I then moved the hybrid reds to a different location. Once I got about 6 hybrid reds, I stopped trying for more and only watered the hybrid reds. I also used fertilizer throughout the whole process. I'm not sure how long it took, but it may have been about a month.

Good luck!

I'm just starting to grow my own purple pansies & I'm having better luck growing them on my beach as my villagers have less of a chance of planting their own pansies next to them to confuse me. Fertiliser will also definitely help during your breeding process.

I hope you're able to grow some of your own, soon!

Are you doing them from hybrid reds, or are you going from purples that you already have? I think going from purples will get you better results, but I've actually never compared them.

I'm doing them from hybrid reds but I'm starting to do them from purples. I can see why purples would give you better results, though.

Try orange + orange pansy. This actually worked for me, I had 2 pansy gardens where I was trying to make a purple pansy, and the orange + orange garden worked. The hybrid red one just made a lot of blue and red pansies.

If you want I can just give you two?I don't really need them and you could find more use!

Hey --- I suffered through purple pansy breeding myself for a time. If you want to, I can lend you my (i) hybrid red pansies, or just give you two purples.... :-)

Together with blue roses, these were such a pain to breed.

Why would someone be willing to buy hybrid red pansies from someone?

Well, to be fair he did offer to lend them, not sell them:) I'd go for getting the purple pansies though if I were going to buy or borrow anything to get a start.

That's all really nice of you, but I really want to grow them myself. I just feels more satisfying that way.

Thanks for the offer.

Good luck growing them!
I had tons of trouble growing black cosmos from using orange cosmos, and I ended up with tons of orange cosmos instead.
Same thing kind of happened when I tried to make hybrid red roses to breed blue roses. I couldn't tell if the red roses were the ones that were hybrid-bred for my blue roses, or just normal roses that spawns/villagers randomly plotting down.

I've never grown anything purple , except the roses .

the only hybrids i breed in my checklist are pink , purple , carnations , and gold roses

Can anyone confirm the flower combinations, that are not listed on thonky, can produce purple pansies without the use of a hybrid red flower?

Orange and orange, blue and orange.

Orange and orange, blue and orange.

I once breeded a Purple Pansy with orange + orange. But I don't remember what I did to get two orange pansies to get a purple one.
