The decision is probably already made but I wanted to add my two cents.

AUUUgh they're both my favorite lazy villagers and some of my favorite villagers period. I have Punchy and I've had Beau before and will probably want him once more since I loved him so much..

I've been really attached to both of them! Beau is my favorite deer but Punchy isn't my favorite cat... however I still feel as if maybe I have more of an attachment to Punchy?

Honestly I don't know haha. If I wanted species variation though I'd probably go with Punchy. I have three cats who are never leaving though so who am I to speak?

OMG YES IT WAS THE SAME GUY I didn't know he ever had Beau! His LPs were what helped me decide to get ACNL when I was weighing other game options. (I've always been bad at decision-making lmao)

It was actually Eugene that Zack came to hate, because he apparently tried to move in on Katt (whom Zack called his girlfriend)

Beau was the first lazy to ever move into my first town, and is also one little cutie... but you gotta be loaded to even have a chance at getting him these days since he's climbed up the tier 1 scale, or get lucky and grab him in a giveaway.

Punchy makes more sense for you judging by your post. I'd go for Punchy, I can tell you're leaning towards him more.

i also got my game this july after watching vids on youtube.

i restarted my first town pretty early on and beau was a starter in my current town.
