Public Works Woes

Months ago I reset my town and I am the mayor of Vineyard now. While running around today, I realized, NONE of my residents have EVER requested a PWP.
I am currently trying the wetsuit trick and no one is pinging for a PWP, only giving me aloe plants and men's toilets, oddly enough.
I have fully upgraded my house, I have club LOL, and the reset center unlocked and thats IT because those arent resident requested.
Any ideas why this is happening? I would hate to have to reset again.

I had this problem, well, I had been getting a few pwp suggestions and then my villagers stopped. The wetsuit trick does work but you have to have your pockets full, so that you don't get given any random items, like men's toilets ;u; I wouldn't reset though!! Just wait it out a little~

Oh goodness your sig is so CUTE! See, I hear conflicting opinions on what should be in your pockets. I've heard it works best to have empty pockets and no money so they cant try to trade, sell, or buy things from you! My game must be angry at me. Lol.

If you fill your pockets with flowers they won't try giving you anything or selling you stuff. You also need to have no money in your pockets. c:

I actually found that if you keep building more PWPs often, the villagers request more. Recently, I've been getting more requests for PWP because I keep building. The faster way is doing the wetsuit cheat though.

I'm currently trying to get some requests via the wetsuit trick myself, haha.
It doesn't necessarily require the wetsuit; you just need to be out of the way of villagers for a while, so even just standing in an isolated corner of town works as long as no villagers are around you.
(Also i don't see people mentioning this but it helps to have letters full too because then you can't get a request to bury a time capsule either?)

It takes a lot of time and patience though so just keep at it and eventually you'll get a request! <:

It takes awhile D; I think it helps if you're close to the villager/have a high friendship, and when you go diving you should be in the water for around 5 minutes, also not every 'ping' is a pwp suggestion - even when you've limited the chances by filling your pockets - I've done the trick so many times so don't worry it will work eventually <3

Patience is my problem. I think you may be on to something with the villager friendship. I havent really bonded with any of them because I don't like ANY of them... They're all pretty gross lil creatures aside from Bianca. Considering TTing to get rid of them but that could go really wrong.

I fill my inventory up with bell bags & my tools. works for me!

I decided to restart my town once more. Seeing everyones towns on this website and learning all of the new tips regarding the plot reset trick and not getting the fruit I wanted, made me realize that I can build from the ground up again, and renew my interest in the game! thanks everyone for the advice.
