Hi! Can anyone give me any tips on how to get any public works, I've been playing since August and I've been recommended a brick bridge (great for my woodland village). I read about walking around with nothing in an inventory and hope for the best but?

Be sure to talk to them fairly often too!
If they are at the "You look tired, mayor" stage, you will not get pings.

Here is what works best:

1. get a wet suit
2. put on the wet suit and go into the water
3. swim away as far as possible
4. stay in the water for 5 minutes
5. return to the mainland
6. ONE villager will ping you 100% of the time (could be any of them and for anything)
7. repeat if they ping you for anything other than a PWP


extra tips when using this trick:
- keep your pockets/bells empty so they dont ping you for stuff
- trap your villagers by digging holes around them so you dont waste time running all over the town searching for the ping

i second this; this trick worked the best for me.

You know how the villagers will kind of hover and stalk you when they think you’ve been playing too long? Just gently close the top of your ds and then open it, it resets them from wanting to tell you to take a break and will usually result in a ping. Just be sure your pockets are empty of anything they like to buy though.

After an hour of playtime the villagers wouldn't ping you because you played too long.
Make sure to talk to them after an hour as gone by to get the take a break out of the way.

You can go hide in a corner of your town or do the diving trick. Fill your pockets full of flowers and don't carry any tools.
With empty pockets the villagers can ping you to give you an item. Villagers have pinged me to catch a fish when I was carrying the fishing rod with a pocket full of flowers.

3am to 4am Cranky villagers are only up.
6am to 7am Normal villagers are only up.

Most PWP in my towns were done with no tricks. Just went about my daily routine and they pinged me.

I just close my lid and open it so I never have to hear that take a break spiel and just get the ping... Does no one else do this too?

Thank you all!!!! I did it all last night and only got my favourite villager talking about her leaving and hide and seek ahahah. Always tonight though!!! Will try again haha.
