PSA: Don't let villagers buy things from you!

hahaha i don't mind it but i can see why people do. but wait, this indicates a friendship level? is there a guide to show the different levels? i'm trying to get everyone's photo so this would be cool to know

It’s also the same for the clothes you should deliver to them. Both, Mitzi and Rod, have a Baby Romper now ...
Why are my Villagers like this?

Yeah, asking to buy something off of you indicates level 6, the highest level of friendship!

everytime i see someone with a thinking bubble or they're pinging me, i literally empty out all the bugs, fishes, clothing, and furniture i have so they can't ask to buy it.

no whitney, i will NOT sell you my sea bass since it's not even in my pockets
omggg!! would their thought bubble go away if that's what they wanted or does it change to something else?

YES this! I honestly wouldn't be as annoyed if Diana put the butterfly on top of the fireplace or the low table; it just looks so sloppy on the floor of her otherwise elegant house

Right? It seems like a huge oversight to be honest! Especially when there's clearly free space on top of a table or a dresser. They really shouldn't be displaying any clothing item in their houses if they have a wardrobe or closet. My Scoot has his starter block table that never has ANY items on it despite me gifting him the small tabletop sizes.

I love it when villagers display the stuff that I give them. I think of it as a sign that they care about my friendship. I even laugh at some of the things they request. Really Erik? Do you really want my wharf roach??? And of course he ends up displaying it

It doesn't really bother me.
Makes their places look more "lived in" and I kind of like seeing various critters in their houses.
I don't gift them furniture though.

audie bought a flea that i picked off of whitney and has displayed it proudly in her home ever since 😔

At this point Hazel has three critters in her house, two stacked upon each other and one on the dresser. Sometimes she puts one away (where???) and only displays two. She won't be staying, but even if she would, I don't know, I'm over being annoyed by it. If they want pets, I let them have pets :giggle: Even if it doesn't look good, it's not me who has to live in their houses. What bothers me way more are ugly clothes.

This is so annoying, especially since you can't remove items through a flea market or something like that. I don't want to have to turn down requests or just gift them fruit so their interior stays intact.

One time I gave my first villager a bed and then he just had a bed and a sleeping bag in his house. HHD update when? 😪

Don't be mad, nice person who answered me yesterday, but I just want to *confirm* that if I give Audie a hanging terrarium that she will love me forever and never, ever ruin her home with it? I want to keep my wolfie in amber, but I want to boost the friendship, too. Thanks.

I sold Coco 2 fish and have gifted her so many pieces of furniture since to no avail  Tbh at least the butterfly are so fun to look at with their colored cages. The fish tanks are hideous

Same thing happened to me when Lobo wanted to buy a butterfly from me. Total regret when I saw it inside his home. Everytime a villager asks me to catch a bug or fish I tell them yes but never actually do it.

Thanks for reminding me that Pinky asked to buy a flea from me and displayed it in her house.

I'll never forget the trauma.

Much to my surprise, my villagers barely ask me if they could buy anything from me. Either I don't have anything interesting with me or they are too stingy to spend any bells.

Noooo, don't do that! Apparently, you don't lose friendship for flat-out refusing them, but you do for failing. They usually say, "Yeah, you're right, I need to catch it myself!"

Does this mean I could get their picture anytime? I think I've reached level 6 with Canbarra. She did not give me her picture while she was still a resident. She asked to move, so I let her go. I thought she would send me her picture the next day, but she didn't. Please educate me. Thank you.
