Pros and cons of connected / separate beaches?

I really prefer one long beach with just a really small private one.
Having a single long beach makes it way easier to fish and to get through town avoiding villagers if you need to.
And having a small private beach is good for storage or at least to bury a pitfall seed so that none spawn in town.

I have a very long beach with 2 ramps leading to the beach and then a small beach with no ramps but you can get to it by swimming ~?

On my main my beach is broken up, but I have a slope to both parts of it. My cycling has a long strip and then a tiny little island you have to swim to. Honestly I haven't set foot on the tiny island cause I'm too lazy. I say so long as you can get to your full beach whether it's broken up or one huge beach, go for it.

My town has the long beach with the private island at the end. It wasn't what I was aiming for though. I was looking specifically at the map itself in terms of where my Re-Tail was and how much space I had and stuff with the beach just being a bonus.

A year ago when I first started playing NL (2 games), I wanted to make sure I didn't have a private beach (because of Gulliver washing up there and no wetsuit). So both towns had 2 different beaches but one of the town's ramps were far apart so that was annoying. I have recently gotten a 3rd game and I wanted to make sure I had a small private beach and the rest of the beach was connected. I do like being able to walk the entire lenght of the beach fishing, but I keep forgetting to check the private beach to see if Gulliver has washed up. Also I'm always worried that there are some really good fish off the private beach, but I can't get to them because I would have to swim there and it would scare them off.

I have separate beaches and wish I had a connected one, it really deters me from ocean fishing tbh ;n;

I personally dislike the private beach. I'm too lazy to put on my wetsuit to get to a small, not utilized piece of land.
When I reset, I made sure I picked a map without one.

I have both, I guess. A long beach, with a small private area near where the train crosses. It's only maybe 5x6 or less. So it's the smallest of the private beach possibilities? I've seen some that are larger, sometimes with a ramp. I like being able to fish in a long line without being interrupted.

I used to have a separate beach, but after I reset I made sure that I had a connected beach. For me, it was extremely annoying because after you fish/collect shells/dive, specifically if you are near the far end of the little path that brings you up to the main area, you would have to run all of the way back up to Retail. Now, I do a loop kind of thing because I have one path near the top and one near the bottom; first I go to the top, fish and collect shells all of the way down, then exit the beach via the bottom path, go up to Retail, sell the things, and then go back to the beach again! It is so much easier and more pleasant than in my old town!

Before i reset my town i had two seperate beaches but now i have a great map and it was just a coincidence i got a connected beach but i really like it c:

I love the private beach. It's a great safe spot for breeding hybrids (I confess, I am a flower killing machine in my own town). I like having a continuous trail of coconut trees on the long beach as well. One of my friends has the separated beach, but we both agree that mine is more convenient, especially on Gulliver days.

I have two beaches, although one is really short and has captn on it, so I never actually fish there. I decorated it with flowers and called it a day :p
I didn't know you could have little private beaches tho, I think it's hella rad. I didn't do any resetting when I stared out, but if I had know I might've pinned for a private beach. I mean, come on, how rad is it to have your own lil' corner of nowhere?

connected with a private beach, so ****ing annoying to have to get back up on the mainland and walk over to the other side if youre fishing, I can just zone out the island, nothing spawns there anyways

I have the separate beaches, and from resetting 3 times I only got a connected one once. To be honest having a connected beach didn't make a difference to me, if anything I think I prefer the separate one I've got now. It's so long I feel like I have 2 beaches.
My main priorities in the new town and final town I made were the following:

・A river that flows down and doesn't defy gravity
・Apple as the starter fruit
・Rocks that aren't badly placed(for future PWP's and paths)
・Not too many lakes, to leave more room for PWP's
・A nice available space to plop my house on

As you can see my list is quite big as it is, and I believe this time around I had to reset for about 2 hours to get the perfect map. The villagers I got sucked balls, but I kept in mind that villagers and their placements can always be changed so I stuck with what was important.

I prefer connected beaches. I have a split one and I hate it. But the map is to my liking so I'm not too mad over it. X0

I have two separate beaches, each with a ramp, and thought I'd point out that ocean fishing isn't a huge inconvenience because of it. I just choose to fish on the longer beach, and the fish keep spawning again and again as I walk back and forth along that beach. The fish never "run out" on that beach and cause me to switch to the other one, you know? So there's no need to walk to the other beach to fish.

I gotta say, I was pretty picky about town requirements and having a private beach wasn't on my priorities at all...I definitely don't prioritize it over building placements, town fruit, river shape, etc. I enjoy having two main beaches, each with a ramp, and decorating each one differently. One is my banana beach, with warm colored flowers, and the other is my coconut beach, with cool colored flowers. I wouldn't have been able to do a theme like this as well with a tiny private beach :) Just thought I'd add a "pro" to the separate beaches, I don't think they're so bad~

I prefer having a connected beach. It's more convenient when fishing. Also, I enjoy having a small private beach. I've had a few villagers end up there which was a pleasant surprise. I didn't know they could swim!

I'd love a connected beach. Wouldn't have to swim to get to the other side. 8'D But having two beaches isn't so bad.

I've always had separate beaches and I'm ok with it. :P Not worth resetting over it. In fact On July 12th I will have had separate beaches for a year. The private beach sounds super cute, but oh well. :P
