So this is probably a dumb question but I'm curious if anyone has actually tried it and what the outcome actually was....

So I have been on friends and strangers islands numerous times where they have a villager that I currently have on my island. If I talk to said villager they (of course) don't know me and talk to me like it's the first time we have met, which is understandable. My question is, if I have an open plot but have say Raymond in my town as one of my other 9 villagers, what happens if I go to a town that has Raymond in boxes ready to move? Do they just talk to you naturally like they are moving but don't ever offer the choice to bring them to your island or does something else happen?

Has anyone actually tried this and if so what what the outcome? I'm curious to know.

I've also been curious about this...unfortunately I don't have an answer. I thought resident services would be like "that person already lives in this town" or they would be like "I extremely dispise someone who already lives in your town."

i’m assuming they’d just talk to you about how they’re moving and that’s it, since villagers on other people’s islands won’t recognize you, even if you have that villager on your island

I'm guessing it wouldn't give you the option to move them but it would probably be the same dialog.
