Before I start, if I'm posting in the wrong section, please move me! I wasn't sure if I was able to post this in the Villager Trading Plaza w/o selling a villager?

Anywho, I was wondering if there was like a loose guidline of the pricing of villagers. I'm about to start a cycling town, and I wanted to make prices that were fair. I know about the tiers and such, but I can't seem to find what everyone generally sells villagers for. Any help about this and general tips with cycling towns would be greatly appreciated!

Depends if you're looking for TBT or in-game bells (IGB). Most of the time, it's 30 tbt for a villager. That's about the average price. But you can always shoot higher or lower.

alas, the above linked villager popularity list is in serious contention right now. it hasn't been updated in a long time and the original updates and rankings were made based on data that's never been publicly shown or corroborated.

so the dispute about the validity of the "tiers" of popularity has combined w the influx of the amiibo cards and the extreme ease of cycling with those now. this has caused both a rapid price drop in sales of villagers, with a simultaneous lowering of demand, as many people can now get their own preferred villagers much easier on their own.

all that is to say - i think the price ranges are from 15 - 50 tbt now, with a more standard, equal rate for all of them. so, 30 tbt should be good i think! ha

Thank you all! I was thinking maybe some of the ones I know are pretty popular (Marshal, Diana, Stitches, etc.) would be the ones who are priced a little higher, but 30-40TBT seems like a good range :) Thank you everyone!

Prices are changing all the time, tier 1's used to go for anything from 100tbt.
There's no set guide price, its best just to look at what other cycling towns are selling for and use it as a starting point

It's hard to know prices now, sadly. Cycling towns used to be somewhat luck-based based off of who moved in and who showed up in the campsite, and so more popular villagers would sell for more simply because of the demand for them.

Now, with the addition of the Amiibo cards, low-popularity villagers are traded for pocket change, and despite the rarity and expense of the popular villagers' cards... Yeah, they've still decreased in value. I used to see tier one villagers go for 100-150 TBT. Now I've seen villagers as popular as Diana sold for 50 TBT or lower. At this point, it really depends on the seller.

now it depends on the seller. i sell tier ones for, a pretty cheap value.
then there's the ones who want to sell a tier 2 at around 20-30 mil or 150 tbt
