Prevent Gyroids from spawning?

This might sound cold, but I don't really like Gyroids, mainly because they spawn so much after rainy days in my town, leaving loads of X's on the ground, and a pain in the butt to dig them all up! I was wondering if there's a way to stop them from spawning completely, similar to how you can stop Pitfalls and Fossils from spawning just by leaving them in the ground. I tried doing that but they keep spawning more, unless there is a limit but it's just massivly high. Any help on this please?

Nope, not unless you cover everywhere with flowers or patterns. I mean, I guess there could be a high limit, but they've always just stacked up when I haven't dug them up after rains.
