Preparing for Halloween

I'm determined to get all the furniture this year. I know the spooky set can be obtained from Nooks and is order able.
My question is, how should I prepare? I know I need tons of candy. Will 30 pieces (one from each day) be enough or should I TT to get more? I already have 2 masks.
I seriously plan on dumping all my junk furni to make room to store candy!!

You will definitely not need any more, and probably not even as much as you're planning for! When the villagers are wandering around outside, you'll get a chance to play a little game with them-when you win, they give you candy. Last year, I ended up with more candy than I started with (and I had two pieces for everyone ready!)

You can find a guide on thonky that will tell you which mask to wear in the villager's houses to scare them into giving you a lollipop. Much easier than trying to figure out from the gossip hints.

Only on Halloween I believe, but you can buy candy, masks, and spooky furniture all month.

Thanks for the information about candy! I guess I should stock as much as the villagers I have. Can you give it to special characters as well (like Isabelle or Blathers)?

I want the creepy set too. I read that's rare. That's why I'm wondering about candy. I thought jack preferred the candy over the lollipops?

you really don't need that much candy...you probably won't even need 20 if i remember correctly. i remember having a lot of extra candy lying around, but since it's only seasonal you can stock up and use them as gifts or decoration later.
if you lose the mini-game, you have 3 consequences: 1) a pumpkin head 2) changes your clothes into ragged patched work (so don't wear clothes you can't reorder) 3) an item in your inventory turns into a jack in a box. for the ragged clothing there's shoes, hat, pants and shirts. i think the candy is mainly for you to give your villagers to tell you what other villagers are scared of, but there are guides for that. also depending on what candy you give jack determines if you get spooky or creepy. make sure you drop the creepy items somewhere after you get it so you don't get it turned into a jack in the box.

also, no you can't give it to special pple like blathers, isabelle and kapp'n. it's just villagers and jack you can give candy to.

Thanks! I figured out the candy part. aren't there 4 different colored pumpkin heads?
Also would it be safer to put the candy into a letter so they don't get turned into junk?

There are 5 colors of pumpkin heads. Orange (can only get from Jack, but is re-orderable), Yellow, Green, Purple & Red (which looks rosy-pink).
Hide anything you don't want changed by a villager or Jack in your letters.
Jack gives you Creepy furniture if you give him a lolipop (which you get from scaring a villager inside of their house on Halloween) and Spooky furniture if you give him candy (like you can buy from the Nooklings).
Also, I buy multiple masks and leave the one that scares a villager outside of their house, so I don't have to store them in my letters/pocket. So if you have 3 villagers that are afraid of the Monster mask, then buy 3 and leave one outside of each of their houses, so on Halloween, just before you go into their house, put the mask on. But be sure to take it back off and put it on the ground just after you come back out of their house.
Also, there is Patched shirt, pants, hat, shoes, dress & also old wall & old floor you could get, but I don't think any of these show up in the catalog.

none of the patched/old items show up in the catalog but HEY. get em anyways. jack prefers lollipops over candy. i played through my first halloween a few weeks back and it was p cool. my game's still in september for bugs/fish/sea creatures but when im ready its gon be SPOOKY EVERYWHERE.
