I'm about to start over in my New Leaf game and I'm just looking for some inspiration/ideas for a fresh new layout

I like it because the plaza is in the centre and I have always have been a fan of long rivers! I also like its symmetry.

Carina, That layout...is perfection. I actually saw one similar to it a couple days ago and I've been resetting trying to get it for about 5 hours now.....But I really like what you've done with the place, especially the placement of your house and coffee shop!

I've always been a fan of the centralized plaza with the tree, but I also love the position of yours!

My layout looks like this, but to see the paths and pwps you can visit my dreamtown.
I wasn't sure about the layout at first when I started but because I really wanted to finally play and not reset forever so I took the one which looked the best, I think I made it work.

- I like that Re-Tail, the train station, and the town hall are all in a row at the top of town, allowing me to have a long horizontal road connecting all three, creating a city atmosphere with all the major buildings in one place.
- I personally liked that the town tree was out on its own, away from the bustle of the main part of town (but I know many like the town tree at the center of things).
- I like that the bends in the river create cozy, scenic spaces to put buildings or build PWPs, with the river serving as a natural separation/barrier between the different sections.

I hate centralized layouts where its an island, i always go for one that has a layout with a top half then a bottom half, split into two halves idk how to describe
Anyway these are both my town layouts

This is Azalea

I love how the Plaza is in a unique place, and the houses lined up.. i also love where my campsite is, so secluded and i just basically love this layout
Also love how my house is between two unique ponds

This is Parfait
Its not the best layout, i do like it BUT i could hardly reject it when it had Tia/Tangy/Stitches in the first 5, and i didnt dislike the layout

The Cafe is now built in the top left :3

Twisk, great layout! I agree with you about the bends of the river. Makes cozy placement for a house and I can perfectly picture a park of sorts in that roundish middle indent that has the bridge coming off of it.

This is my layout when I first got my town, so the houses have changed. I plan to put all my villgers houses on the small half of the river (right side) all in a nice straight line my house is in the little crevice in the middle of the river, my town is looking great so far! I got it on the 11th or 12th of this month

I like my map because the plaza is in the middle and there is a nice sectioned off area to the south where I can make a little neighborhood for my villagers overlooking the beach

A spot for my house where I have it all to myself but also easy access to the rest of the map with a well placed bridge or two. Retail is right next to train station/main street, town hall is right next to plaza so the three main buildings all are close to each other. Also a nice little place to the south for staring out into the south facing waterfall or a great place to put a lighthouse. I wish I had either apples, peaches or cherries rather than oranges but oh well it's not a deal breaker for me ^.^

Oh yea and only one lake. That's pretty cool too
