Poor uchis.

I always thought uchis were a little shady with their consistent selling of fake paintings, always selling stuff from some friend's shop back home, etc. They always, ALWAYS go off singing when I buy something from them. I always thought it was because they figured they had pulled a fast one on me. Some stuff Phoebe has said lately has made me change my outlook a little.

She was sad because Flora had said her house was too empty, and she said it wasn't because she didn't have good taste, it was because she couldn't afford any more furniture. She then was visiting my house and said she'd love to live in a house like mine but would never have enough bells. And, she was saying how her house didn't look too bad from the outside, but asked me not to look inside.

Other stuff like that has made me realize that these little tomboys are impoverished. They sing when you sell them stuff because it's tough for them to get their hands on bells. Thinking about this, I didn't even feel bad when I got my Girl with a Pearl Earring home and found out she had a yellow scarf (off-topic, but it never fails to amaze me how modern that girl looks--the painting's from 1665!!!) .

It does kind of hurt my theory that Phoebe has a ton of gorgeous furniture in her house. Hah.

Anyway, think kindly on the uchis and don't feel bad if they scam a few bells out of you. They need them more than you do.

haha, i did notice all those things, but the other villagers say similar stuff.

cranky ones complain when their friends say they don't have enough furniture by responding with how they aren't made of bells, etc.

still think it's really funny when mira hums off, but i believe she's always pulling a fast one regardless of how much i like her. XD

I never really looked at it that way!

When I had Renee in my town.. she would always attempt to sell me paintings. (About 5 i think.. haha) Once she gave one to me for free after denying to buy it for a certain price. I forgot the how the exact dialogue went though. (I haven't checked if it was fake or not yet) xD I always thought she was selling fake paintings.. but I recall atleast one was genuine. Unlike Renee, when I had Charlise in my town she never tried to sell me any paintings which I thought was weird. Though she would have silly conversations with other villagers about how being "independent" and "different" is cool. Which was really cute and I miss her for that.

On the other hand, I like uchi villagers. All of them are pretty unique characters with designs that make them different from the rest. In addition to that, they recommend awesome pwp's! :3

Hm. Uchis were initially one of my least favorite personalities! Coming from WW, I thought they were a mixture of the worst parts of snooty and peppy villagers. Furthermore, I didn't like their designs and color schemes. A lot of their models looked really...like they were missing a third layer to me. I ended up taking in Phoebe for my uchi since I have a huge favorable bias concerning thematic villagers, especially if they reference folklore.

It hasn't been long but I'm starting to realize I'm thinking more of them as BA-tough gals rather than annoyingly...snooty+peppy. I noticed personalities have been toned a bit down with NL, and I actually now place peppies at the top of my favorite personality list, so that may be a contributing factor haha. I like how despite everything, they're very sweet at heart and gracious and the kind to win the respect of others. The other female personalities have flaws that tend to prevent that, so I'm glad uchi exists as a personality.

Have you people realised some deep back stories of Uchis? I have Deirdre and she is so cool,but she looks poor. These uchis are not tomboys,but they are acting as boys,because big sisters/uchi are supposed to act tough,and defend their little siblings from harm or bullies.
They are forced to act tomboyish,because they have no choice. They came from a poor family, and only want to help out their parents,or they do not even have parents at all. Working day and night just for their siblings. That's what it means to be Uchi. To defend your young brother and sisters from harm. Not like the stereotypical big sisters people have nowadays,even though there are some who are like that.

Sorry, not a fan of the uchis. I don't think their personality is distinctive enough. Had Muffy who suggested all my PWPs and then I let her go. To be fair by the end of her stay I was relatively fond of her

I never get mad when villagers give me forged paintings. I know the risk and it's usually not very expensive at all in taking that risk in the first place. ^^

I've gotten most of my paintings from uchi, cranky and smug villagers.

I honestly don't understand all the dislike for uchis! I'm pretty sure the reason there may not be such a variety of good designs to choose from is just because it's the newest personality type, so there are less of them. All the other personalities have like 60+, while Uchis only have 21. That being said, I think several of them are really cute, especially Fuchsia, Mira, and Phoebe. Fuchsia is my favorite and honestly I like her look better than say, Fauna's, and Fauna is way more popular.

Deirdre is by far the best Uchi IMO. She doesn't just look for the role,she was born to be uchi. She was made for it. Also,the tomboyish personality fits her. Kinda like my mother. She is the eldest of her 2 siblings,and was forced to act like a man whenever her siblings are in danger. Resulting her to look tomboyish.
