How is this eve possible? I just caught a carp in the river, is this a glitch?
Is the river connected to the sea or to a waterfall? If not, the game counts it as a pond.
Or I think too close to the ocean? I have a pond right out of my airport gate that has a current and gives me river fish.Apparently, the opposite also happens. If the pond is too big, it becomes a river despite not being connected to anything.
To those who are "well maybe game thinks it's... for... reason"
If the bobber moves from where you cast it - game classifies as river
If the bobber doesn't move from where you cast it - game classifies as pond
Your bobber is moving, so clearly the game is classifying it as a river (even if it wasn't your original river) ... It is odd.
as it was pointed out, my river is really close to a pond... maybe they are too close and fish supposed to spwan in the pond "glitched" in the riverI thought the carp WAS a river fish
EDIT: Oh I see now that in New Horizons it's strictly a pond fish... but I'm curious, is there a pond immediately below that river of yours?![]()
A body of water can be a river even if it's not connected to the sea or a waterfall as long as it's long enough relative to it's width. The bobber test described in a post above will tell you if an enclosed body of water is a river or pond. A body of water connected to a waterfall or the sea will always be a river regardless of size or shape. Is the river connected to the sea or to a waterfall? If not, the game counts it as a pond.
