poll: your Christmas Tree: real or artificial?

My family use to always go together to pick out a real Christmas tree, but two years ago my mom got tired of the cleanup after so we bought a fake one. It makes me kinda sad to be honest.

artificial, the "pine needles" are super shiny on it. we've never had a real tree but i always wanted one, i think it would be really pretty

It's artificial, but only because my boyfriend and I are poor college students, so we have a cheap 3 ft one that was pre-lit. Although it's my dream to have a real one once we're a little more stable, but I'm not sure how likely it is since my boyfriend is allergic to pine needles. :c

artificial always. tried real once, and never again. Constant trimming to make sure it fit the ceiling.. Constant pine shedding. The smell is ok but too grassy for me. Its beautiful but eh.. save the trees.

We always get a real tree, sometimes we'll put up a secondary fake baby tree, but only sometimes. I love the smell of the real tree.
Also lol to the "save the trees people" Christmas trees are grown on tiny farms where the trees only have room to grow to cutting height for the most part, if they tried growing larger they'd all suffocate each other and die anyways, but these trees aren't just wild trees people are hunting down (well most of them aren't cause that's illegal unless you know who owns the land) they're planted and grown just for the sake of cutting down, it's not like that's what is causing deforestation so it's not a v good reason.

We have a real living tree this year, though in the past we just did artificial because it's easier with young kids! Plus I'm allergic to trees so...

My parents do artificial because it's less messy. I want to have real trees when I'm on my own though; I love the smell of pine trees <3

I've only ever had a real tree, never artificial! And I never will Even the treeless years, no artificial! I get a tree because I feel like it's my pet, its living and breathing and I water it and clean up after its leaf droppings. I feel like its my friend and always notice it! When it leaves I feel like its a lost friend Besides, the smell, feel, and appearance of the tree is too great to pass up! Not to mention going out to pick one out with loved ones, and scouring many trees to find the *one*. Real trees are so much fun! I still have little clippings of last years tree, to remember it by. I wish I could have more plants in my house or grow plants, maybe I'm just a really big plant lover!!

here out East its usually a fir tree: Douglass, Fraser, Noble, or Balsam.
