Police in Taiwan use New Horizons to return lost Switch

That's pretty cool. Another way would be to post a screenshot via social media, once you're logged in it doesn't require a password anymore (kinda unsafe...).

That's really cool! I'm glad they were able to reunite the switch with the owner. I would have been heartbroken if I lost my whole island!!

oh this is so neat!! props to that officer for getting creative ^_^

I wonder if the officer also plays Animal Crossing. :)

Based from the statement, that officer just "learned" about the mailing system in the game. So I guess probably not.

Saw this yesterday on Twitter. Pretty neat that the officer came up with this idea and learned how to use the game's mail system. Also kudos to the person who was honest and gave up the console to the police, the Switch owner must be really relieved that they got back their console after all.

Not only is that pretty clever trying to return the Switch to its rightful owner, but I'm glad whoever found it did the right thing. Considering the situation right now with a limited stock of Nintendo Switches, they could've easily kept it for themselves.

Very interesting! Glad they had someone so creative on their team to think of this :)

This is a very sweet story! I don't know if it's my lack of faith in the United States right now or not, but I just don't see something like that happening here. I think it's starting out with the fact that someone turned it in to the police in the first place. I know there are good people out there who would, I just wish I'd see many more of them :/

Awww! I love how they kept actively looking for the owner. I would be very grateful if someone tried to bring me back my lost items. This had a sweet happy ending!

I recently helped someone who had their switch stolen rebuild their island. I would be so sad if that happened to me, good thing the cops did
