Pokémon X and Pokémon Y UK Distribution

From July 11th to August 10th, GAME are running a promotion that will get you a free Charizard holding a Mega Stone, which will enable it to mega evolve into Mega Charizard!

All you need to do is get yourself to a nearby GAME and connect up to the Nintendo Zone there to receive the free download. It's all to promote the new Trading Card Game Flashfire expansion, which features the lovely Charizard on several cards.

Pokemon X owners will get a Charizardite Y Mega Stone, and Y owners will get a Charizardite X. These are two different Mega forms of the fire-breathing starter Pokemon: Mega Charizard X has higher Attack/Defense stats and more type resistances, and Y has an immunity to Ground types as well as higher Special Attack and Special Defense stats.

I'll have to pop into GAME on Saturday after clothes shopping, I'll probably get an eshop card so I can download the Pokemon Art Academy. I need a Charizard for my living dex on X so this is quite useful (I'll get one on my X and Y)

EDIT: Thinking about it I'm not sure if my local GAME has a Nintendo Zone- Serebii says that if it isn't on you can ask at the till to turn it on? I don't want to miss this for collection purposes

Oh, I completely missed that, thank you! Gives me an excuse to get an eshop code then!

EDIT: Will I need two codes then if I want to use it on X and Y or do you think they'd provide a Y code and an X code? (I really prefer internet download events, I never know what to do with these ones- I missed out on the Magmar and Electabuzz event because of me being silly )

Secondly, you are comparing two different things and also comparing two different distributions with no justification of either. So assuming the first is comparable, how can you compare "1 week later" to "never"?

I've seen quite a few people on other forums getting aggravated over this distribution being UK only, I don't see what all the fuss is about, the only special thing about the Charizard is that it comes with the alternate mega stone. If it had unique moves or was an entirely different, rarer Pokemon I would see why people are angry. If anything there are too many members of the Charmander line circulating over Wonder Trade so getting a Charizard is fairly easy Plus you never know Gamestop or some other US retailer may run this event later...

There is no saying you will never get it, if you do, it will just be later. Which is a fair comparison for time reasons as of the later releases.

Why doesn't the US get events . Japan and UK always get regional event Pokemon, while the US has only gotten a world wide fancy vivillion distribution.

I got my download code today, there was a bit of confusion as the guy on the till didn't know you could get the code on a receipt but we got it sorted eventually! Apparently the download codes are limited though?

I have just rang my local GAME store as I have their 0115 number on my phone because I am a frequent customer and a staff member said that codes are only to be printed off if the Wi-Fi doesn't work at a store, so the Wi-Fi must not have worked for you Colour Bandit.

Oh the WiFi was working apparently, but I didn't want to take my 3DS into town as there has been an increase in pickpockets and bag thieves in my town :/ They didn't mind though, I wasn't the only person asking for a code so me and the man next to me were having a laugh about it

All the promo posters only mentioned the download as well so I was worried I wouldn't get it!

I forgot to take my 3DS with me to GAME yesterday. Although there were no posters / ads about it or anything in there. Maybe because it was a really small shop?
