Pokémon Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet General Discussion

A new Pokémon reveal very soon!

What type do you think Grafaiai will be?
This looks promising. The term “graffiti” seems to imply Poison, Ghost, Dark, or Fairy, and the end of the name sounds like “aye-aye” a species of nocturnal lemur. I want to say it might be Ghost or Dark, with a possibility of Fairy or Poison.

Grafaiai got revealed today! I’m so glad we have an aye-aye, better yet, me predicting the Pokémon’s basis.

I like Grafaiai, it's pretty interesting! Its reveal trailer was cute, too. The very first Poison/Normal dual type Pokémon, making it neutral to Fighting, immune to Ghost, yet keeping the Poison-type weakness of Psychic and Ground, but even though it can put the hurt on Fairies, it's useless against Steel-types. When I first saw Grafaiai I instantly thought of Smeargle and how they could pretty much be rivals over territory (or maybe even friendly rivals) and with their design gimmick being about painting, I can totally imagine them playing a round or two of Splatoon LOL

I understand the real world aye-ayes have big bright eyes, but Grafaiai's eyes just seem a bit like a bug's, or maybe that's just me, but it does nothing to hurt its overall design imo.

i'm a huge fan of most things they have revealed about the upcoming games thus far! i like the graphics, the multiple storylines and especially the new pokemon! however, i'm not sure how i feel about the battle mechanic yet. on paper it does sound rather interesting to have every pokemon potentially being a different type, but in my opinion they executed it very poorly visually.

I adore cats and plant Pokémon so this is a no-brainer. I just pray that the evolution of it stays on all 4 legs. I hate the anthropomorphic look of the last few gens. I wish the Litten line wouldn’t have transformed into some buff bodybuilder dude with a kitty head 🥲

I’m sure you are referring to Sprigatito as opposed to Grafaiai. Anyways I must agree, I want to see it remain quadrupedal. I didn’t care in prior generations because I was so new, but I want to see more animalistic final forms.

I don't know how to say this but
the leaker says Sprigatito 3 stands up and has a magician theme
...Gamefreak loves making anthros for...a certain community of the Pokemon fandom. Lucario, Zoroark, Incineroar, Lycanroc, Cinderace, Obstagoon...there's a long list.
NOOOOOO :C (although „sad leak“ made me laugh a little)…. I don’t mind anthro/furry art but there are so many anthro Pokemon already… i just want a badass looking cat (or other starter for that matter) god dangit (and not the human bodybuilder kind).

Okay, you know what? I’m gonna need you to get rid of the leak. I dislike people leaking disappointing information, and I think we’ll become victimized by YouTubers such as HDvee and aDrive, who go over leaks. I’m not going to look at it for months so that I can have a good life and will treat this and the reply as fake. Do not even try to convince to see that thing, I want to look at the final forms when they officially get revealed.
Edit: On the topic of anthropomorphic/semi-anthropomorphic animalian Pokémon, not all are bad. Lucario, Greninja, and Zoroark have become iconic, and Lycanroc has three forms, two of which are quadrupedal. If we look at the starters, Torterra, Serperior, Samurott, were all introduced after the third generation and don’t look too humanoid. And if we look at some of the more recent final starters, Greninja and Rillaboom in their official artwork are posed somewhat like the animals they are based on. In short, we should have a balance on humanoid and animalistic starter designs for future generations.

Fun new trailer! The new pokemon in this one are pretty silly, though I do like Ceruledge and I'm glad so far I like the vio exclusives more since that was my initial game pick.

I also mulled over the fact Hisuian Typhlosion and Ceruledge are ghost/fire which makes me think Fuecoco isn't based on a ghost pepper like people initially thought. I just can't see them doing a third ghost/fire at this pace. Unless they do a fire/grass ghost pepper I guess... which would be interesting.

I will note that I don't follow leaks nor have any desire to so please don't spoil the final evo for me if you know something. I'm just doing fun speculation.

I actually really like Klawf 🥰 its official art just reminds me so much of a frog, and it looks so derpy! I also like how its design and gimmick alludes to other mons who I like to call, "lookalikes" such as Sudowoodo being a Rock-type yet looks like a tree, and Lurantis being a Grass-type yet looks like a bug. Anyone seeing them at first glance think, "Oh, that's a bug type!" but surprise surprise you get hit with a STAB Solar Blade lol

One would think that Klawf is a Water-type because it's based on a crab, but it's actually a Rock-type, and a pure Rock-type at that. Also, it looks robotic which to me makes it look like a Sonic enemy, since a lot of Sonic enemies are robots and the whole ordeal with the old games is that you're trying to save animals from becoming robots. Unfortunately, looks like it's already too late for Klawf lol
