Pokemon HG/SS help

hey guys/girls.. im starting pokemon hg ss again so i need a few tips on what electric pokemon and what water pokemon i can get, reletively quick in the game, 5th badge or 6th badge time... if it helps i am starting with cyndaquil

One word: Lanturn. It's both Water and Electric, and has so much HP. It concentrates more on Special Attack than Physical, so try to get one with a nature that lowers Physical Attack.

I've always gone with Ampharos. Capable of having a diverse moveset.

yeah, i recently caught the mareep, and the file before.. but i want a different electric type..i have 2 options for my water type.. either quagsire (gigidy) or that other one i cant remember the name.. i think quagsire is a real bulky pokemon. ground water.. it would be hard to k.o with hydro pump surf earthquake and something else..

Surf
Rain Dance
Ice Beam
Thunder

cheers dude, but the thing is you can only get chinchau in a 7% chance before you travel to kanto :/
