A little bit of advice though, try and have pokemon who aren't weak to the same type, like Patrat and Lillipup. You could have both of them taken out by a fighting type pokemon pretty quickly.
Since you just started, I'd suggest just sticking with what you have right now, maybe catch some bug pokemon. They evolve the quickest out of all other pokemon and will give you an extra little boost.
After you beat Burgh you should go directly to Route 5 and catch a Solosis, having a psychic type gives you a huge advantage against most people with their high speed stats and ability to learn almost every other type of attack, especially the ones they are weak against. I also had a pretty good time using a Sandile early on. The Ground/Dark pairing is great, giving you complete immunity to electric and psychic attacks.
