so i tt to 5:58 am right? or should it be 5:50? what do i do after? i just don't want to mess up on bam's house location
btw i know how to plot reset, i'm just confused on the tt'ing to the next day
So basically, you:
1) TT to 5:58AM on your mayor the day that the plot is suppose to show up.
2) Save and quit* quickly
3) Wait 2 minutes.
4) Create a new character and roam around town until you see the plot is
placed where you want.
* Do not complete the new character registration if you do not like the plot.
DO NOT LOAD UP YOUR MAYOR TOWN UNTIL YOU GET A PLOT YOU LIKE.
Doing so would finalize where the plot is o:
i know what that is, but i just claimed him today and i can't really wait to plot reset and would like to do it tonight. so i meant how to safely time travel to the next day so then i can save and quit so i can do the new character thing.
You can change the date on your 3DS if you want to be safe, but I don't like doing that so I use the in-game clock. You just need to make sure you don't go past 6:00 in the morning (I do 5:58, but you can start earlier if you want to be safe), and then wait until 6:00 to make a new character.
@Gamecube: Here are a few things you need to know!
- ACNL considers 6:00 AM to be a "new day". Villagers will move in after 6:00 AM, so that's the threshold you should be very careful not to cross.
- Starting on an existing character locks in the day's setup, even if you quit without saving. This is the reasoning behind why it's a huge no to start on your mayor or any other existing character!
- PWPs (including ones still in donation stage) will prevent a villager from moving into a certain spot
The process (it's pretty simple haha):
1.) Start the game after 6:00AM on the day you believe a villager is going to set up their house plot.
2.) Do not boot up an existing character. Create a new character, go through the process with Rover.
3.) As soon as you gain control (after Porter hands you the town map), go out and look for the plot. When you find it...
If you do not want the plot in that area:
4.) Shut off the game without saving. Return to step 2 and repeat the process until you're satisfied with where the villager places their home.
If you want to keep the plot in that area:
4.) Go to town hall, talk to Isabelle. Then go to Tom Nook to build your house. You basically complete the setup of a new character.
5.) As soon as you can save and quit, do so to lock the plot in its place. Congrats, you finished plot resetting!
On a new day, when you haven't loaded up as the mayor (or an existing character), you create a new character and walk around and see where the plot was place. If you like it, you talk to Isabelle, Nook, and then Isabelle to save it in place. You can then delete the new character and the plot will stay there. If you don't like it, you quit without saving and then go back in as another new character and keep doing that until you like the plot location.
