I've been resetting Muffy's plot alllll day and i'm it's slowly driving me insane (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻

The place I want her to move to isn't even that small, there's room for a house with plenty of space to spare, but no, she won't even move to the correct side of the map nevermind the right area. I wouldn't mind but she's a dreamie and I know exactly where I want her for keeps D:

If a villager shows no interest of living anywhere but one part of the map, will they ever move to the right place?

some people plot reset for days.

See normally when I reset for villagers there's a lot more movement around the map but she's determined to live in one section, all be it a few squares up/down/left/right. It feels like i'm making no real progress whatsoever, officially the least enjoyable resetting session so far >.<
I even went back the day before and put up another pwp in the area thinking it would help.

@AmiMercury Good luck in your search, she's worth it! That's the only thing getting me through this :P

If you can, go back a day and place a character house/pwp where she keeps plotting c:

I found myself plot resetting for Francine for almost a whole day. I say almost because I got irritated and took a break for a few hours. The annoying part for me was when I loaded the game back up and saw her plot on the title screen in the EXACT PLACE I wanted it. I hoped so much that I'd load up a new save file and it would be in the same place from the title screen but nope... so I had to keep going until FINALLY she got in the right place.

It's such a frustrating process, but worth it if you have the patience and really don't want them plotting somewhere stupid!

Dang. :/ It scares me to think I'm going to have to be that patient. I ended up resetting my town because I got tired and would settle for places that weren't REALLY what I wanted, and it make me really unhappy. I wish you luck!

Another thing to add, neighbors seem to like moving to either close to the town hall, your house, next to other neighbors, or where previous neighbors had once placed them. To counter this problem somewhat I put a big fat fence in front of my house.

Interesting, I didn't officially know that, I assumed it was my bad luck more than a pattern. It's the town hall in this case, she's moving all round it >.<

Why oh why can't we hand pick their plots in game :P

There's a section of my map, right in the middle of my path, where EVERYONE tries to plot. My town is pretty full - 3 playing character homes and lots of PWPs - so there aren't many locations left for them to plot successfully. Because of this, I've plot reset for HOURS with them placing their house in that SAME SPOT every single time.

I got so scared that I had loaded my mayor or something, it seemed like they were never going to try to plot anywhere else. Just keep at it. If you want her forever, it will be worth it in the end. Despite how crazy she's making you feel at the moment.

Yeah, I have the fountain in front of my home, to stop anyone from plotting there. I have a big beautiful garden surrounding the fountain now, I love "my yard" :P

My found the plots were on the opposite side of the river from my mayor's house like 99% of the time... but the rest of my villagers (except for one who is probably about ~10 cells away from my mayor's house, who I'm hoping will leave eventually) are all close to the cliff edges, but not right on the very edge that I can't put paths around their houses... so eventually I stopped bothering to check the cliffs for a plot and checked on that side of the river first, which made my resetting process a little bit quicker... but still frustrating... >__>

I know the feeling about accidentally loading the Mayor, i've scared myself a few times as well!!!! T___T
My gut is telling me that this one is going to take days, she's moving around the same selection of plots over and over, with the very occasional variation! *must stay positive* xD

GUYS MUFFY FINALLY PLOTTED DECENTLY AHHhhHhhhhhhhhHHH.
It's not 100% where I want her (she's a couple of squares to the left), but after all of yesterday and 5ish hours today i'll take what I can get, that was the first time she moved to the area at all so... :P

Ah man I accidentally selected my mayor instead of a new villager while I was resetting a spot for Carmen. It's so painful because a few of the resets were good, but I had the "I can do better" feeling and rerolled again. When I wasn't thinking I just chose to start as my mayor and now Carmen is locked in a blehh place :(

I've seen people plot resetting for three or four days straight. Dunno how they do it. I just stick with the first alright spot that isn't on my paths.

@LazyMoth
Oh noes!!!! I almost did that but i managed to close the game before the loading screen finished, I got lucky! >.<
Hopefully you can work around it though :)

@IncendiaryPro
For me personally it's because I want to strategically place homes so that I get the most out of pwp's and space in general. I really wish I didn't have that drive though, acnl playing would be so much simpler! xD

I plot resetted for Cherry's house for 3 days, and she still didn't move into Kabuki's old place, so in the end I just settled for a place that wasn't in the way of anything :(

I plot resetted Marshal for 3 hours. At that last time, I was about to give up and he planted where I initially wanted him to be. From my experience with Marshal, it's like there are areas where he would commonly plot and some areas where he will very seldomly plot.

I also plot resetted for Diana for about 2-3 hours a while ago and she planted right next to Mira at the end. Now I'm conflicted whether to keep Phoebe or Mira as my Uchi. I like Phoebe's house and design more, but Mira is also pretty cute and her location is better.
