I have been plotting Bunnie for about six hours straight now. My town is full of fountains, so she can't plot in random spaces. She always plots behind the town hall or one space away from my desired spots. The spots are isolated: no rocks and no villagers. So why is she plotting one space away on both sides and not the exact spot? Do you people have any tips? I'm usually patient and try to keep my cool but ;o;

i'm not sure how effective it is (i mean, it seeeeeeemed to work for me) but hard resetting occasionally rather than soft resetting. so turning your ds completely off rather than just closing the game down via the home screen. honestly though the biggest tip is probably just to have patience, six hours would be amazing for some of my villagers, i think that diana took me around an irl week to plot because i only wanted her in one specific spot

Hi mogyay! Thank you so much! I have try that :blush:

I'm not sure if this has any sort of bearing, but I heard that villagers generally prefer to move in closer to other villagers, so, if the location you're aiming for is a little distance away from other villagers then it may be less likely for them to place their house there. Then again, this claim has only been from what a few others have said and my own experience.

One of my villagers, Mitzi, moved out a few weeks ago and I was trying to get Rudy to move into the exact same spot where she once was. There was no PWPs near by so it was definitely possible, however, after over 100 resets I found a new location for Rudy xP. I plot resetted on average about 10-15 times per day, so all in all it took around 8 or 9 days. In my instance, I think I was just extremely unlucky xD. I guess I'm a little too picky when it comes to where villagers place their houses :P.

I'm sooooo picky on where they end up so I plot reset too, the other day I spent 20 hours plot resetting Marshal. Sometimes when they end up in the same place a couple times I close the game and eject the cartridge and that works for me. It's so boring but really worth it in the long run.

A reason she could be plotting in certain spots multiple times is due to them being hotspots (this has something to do with the way the game is programmed, I think.)

I need to plot reset tomorrow for Timbra and I'm already dreading it. There's only 2-3 locations I'd be happy with and they're all sort of close to other villagers, paths, or rocks so I'm hoping they are actually plottable. I basically have zero pwps so this is gonna be tough. In my old town they would always move into where an old villager left so it was super convenient. I'm gonna try that hard resetting thing because I always just close on the home screen.

Honestly, patience is the biggest key with plot resetting. No matter what I've done to control where they go there is always one villager that takes forever to plot correctly. With my new towns I'm just letting them plot where desirable. I just don't have the strength to spend hour, or even days, on plot resetting. Maybe when I invest time into a 100% perfectly planned town, but right now nah! lol.

I do lik the hard resetting option, like I feel it would be more a placebo effect kind of thing, but it may work. Who knows for sure!

Two days ago I spent the entire day resetting for Biskit until he ended up in a designated spot all alone with no villagers around.
Now I'm again resetting for Cookie (why do they have almost the exact name in the english version lol), and you'd think that a villager already being there would help... it doesn't. Villagers seem to be drawn to those specific spots ON MY PATH.

But yeah, patience is the key. And remember that you need 3 spaces in front and 2 spaces on each side. That almost messed up my plan.

I honestly don't like plot resetting :/ But I guess what would be a good thing to do is out something a villager can't move over in isolated spots/places you don't want them, (probably pretty easy to do with bigger PWP's, so that way the plot is too close to the river/cliff/beach) and then they can't move in that place. Now this defeats the point of plot resetting for that person, but you can do it with visitors so that way they can't move there. I had a clump of houses, and I wanted Flip to move in with it, so I put a fountain in an empty area not too far away from the clump, and then I talked to Flip. It took me only about 10 times, (but I did have a lot of other pwp's) and I got it! As for plot resetting when they are in the building phase, I guess patience is key. I hope I helped :D
