I had my worst plot resetting time today so far. It took me about 3 hours to get Bam where I want him to be, and he's still a space back from where I really wanted him. I just couldn't take it anymore. I know many of you have spent MUCH more time than that.

At one point, I was so irritated that I considered leaving him where he was and completely redoing my town. It would have involved me moving my park (which I love) and a character's house (not my mayor, of course, but fully expanded). My daughter talked me down off the ledge, thank goodness. :)

Have you ever been tempted to do something like that over the frustration of plot reseting? Have you given into it?

if it gets a space off i usually leave it, unless it runs into something i worked kinda hard on like with my flowers, then i keep trying. it's probably taken me an hour at most. at most i consider moving a small pwp, like a streetlight. but i try to be pretty laid back or else i go crazy :c

The more complete my town is, the longer it takes me to plot reset. Sometimes I get so frustrated I leave the game alone and continue plot resetting the next day.

I have never plot resetted.... I just build around the house if I want them to stay in my town. I do know what plot resetting it, and I have tried looking it up I think a year ago. I think I got confused back then and gave up. Though now I would probably understand how to do it more since I understand the game more.

I have heard people spending days on plot resetting. Those people have guts! I kno I couldn't do that. I would get bored. I find it easier just to build about the houses of the people I want to keep... Like my paths lead to stitches, octvian, and muffyy at the moment. :) I don't include the others on the paths. Hopefully that'll send those villagers a hint, heh.

I havee heard stories of people throwing things, breaking things, ect because of plot resetting. That's crazy. If a games causing that mmuch stress put it down and try again later. Play something else. Watch a movie. :) It's suppose to be fun. Don't forget that.

I plot reset Stitches for a whole day once then just recently ended up kicking him out partially because his house location STILL sucked. >.<

One of my problems was that it kept putting the house in one particular location, on the complete opposite side of the town of where I wanted him. I'd say 75% of the plots were there. What's up with that???

I've had to move paths over one space and completely move others because of plot resetting. I sacrificed having my villagers' houses symmetrical in favor of having Fauna lined up next to the path like I wanted. And then I accidentally loaded my mayor when resetting for Erik, and he moved in where I planned to put the cafe -_- I had to move the path up one so it would line up with his house, making it impossible for any more houses to the right of him to be built because it was too close to the river. Sigh... (Currently on my 17th try to plot reset for Pecan. Wish me luck.)

I have specific 3x3 spots for my villagers, but after a while I get so sick of it I just accept any reasonable place and work with it.

And totally off topic, but this is my 1,000th post! Woo!

This is why we need zoning abilities as mayor! It could be either zoning individual plots or setting specific areas for housing.

You guys are hardcore-dedicated to spend so much time on plot resetting!

I can only imagine the crazymakingness of this, so I don't plot reset. I do get some unpleasant surprises, but I like the challenge of keeping things more organic, rather than the challenge of days or weeks of plot resetting.

A question, though: when it takes you forever to plot someone, is part of the frustration that you just want to get back to playing the game?

I've never had to plot reset. My villagers always put their homes in a good place. Though, Olivia did put her house in the middle of my perfect buttfruit orchard... I forgave her.

Oh my goodness o_O i didn't know people spent that much time on plot resetting although I could understand why you want to because it's a dreamie and you want them in a really good spot but dannnng 3 hours? I would've been pulling my hair out at that point and banging my head lol. I can't imagine using that much time to plot reset. Kudos to you man

I spent the entire day plot resetting once. I remember being so angry that I wanted to throw myself down a flight of stairs, hah. And even after that, the villager's plot still wasn't in the right place!

i'm about to start plot resetting skye lol wish me luck! i need her on the south island and there's 2-3 spots she can go!

- - - Post Merge - - -

i messed up and now she's alone on the north island so i need to redo my landscaping bc of her ugh. i guess half the villagers will be in the north, and half in the south. she didn't mess up my paths tho which is good i guess

I don't plot reset! XD I usually let villagers put their house where they want to put it and ive had pretty good luck so far! (Even though I've had the game for 2 years and still have my original town).

But I can understand your frustration, having to spend 3 hours simply doing the same tedious thing, over and over again. Just don't let that stop you! You can do it! :D

Ive thrown my DS across the room because of the places my villagers kept trying to go to
I have also settled on a few houses in places I wish they wouldnt be in

Please use this tip. It'll save you soo much time... When plot resetting, most people just go to the home menu and start up the game again and again. You'll find that a villager keeps resetting in a certain area. To go around this, turn off your 3DS after you've tried about 5 times and then see if the plots are located in different places. They should be, and the pattern of location you was in will be changed. Repeat this method until you've found the house plot around the place you want it, and then keep trying to plot the house without turning your 3DS off. I hope this helps you, I've used it before and it worked pretty well.

I've never plot resetted. Might have to soon if I get Merengue (She's a dreamie and I'm keeping her so her house has to be perfect!)
