So thanks to this update I am finding it extra difficult to plot reset ruby right now. She is only moving in 2 specific places. I even left the paths around where Mira's house used to be but she only wants to land on my hybrids. I tried last night and am continuing today but it is 11 pm now in game! :o so my question is if it turns into the next day will ruby's plot be set and will her house show up? I changed the time in game not from my 3ds.

I turned my clock back like 4 times to the day before move in because I kept having to add tiles to make sure the new villager didn't move on top of my dirt paths, flowers, etc. Basically I had two spots the villager could go in addition to the house he was replacing. Well, because of the update, the villager kept moving on top of the location of the old house, and I thought I'd messed up something, but no! After 20+ tries, he eventually moved to the spot I'd left open for him. The game is just... really stubborn ._. Good luck!

With the game clock or 3ds clock? And if u move the clock back will ruby not move in?

Once it hits 6:00 am the new day will start and I think the game will automatically save so your fine until 6, if you go backwards or forwards a day ruby should put down a permanent plot.

Villagers will pick the same spot for a long time now sadly, lol But eventually they move! A lot of people have posted that they have to do it countless times before the villager actually moves out the spot or spots they keep moving to. Others get lucky and it's like normal plot resetting.

I plot reset Julian a week ago, and luckily he moved right where Rocket's house was, on the first try. Some people have posted about this as well. So it's still a lot of trial and error with plot resetting!

I have a plot resetting question myself!

Is it true that placing things on the tiles will prevent villagers from moving on top of them? I was thinking of recycling a lot of villagers to plot reset, but was wondering if I could make it easier on myself by placing a lot shells all over my town where I don't want them to move. Will that even work?

What I do, is turn my 3DS clock back one day so I can lay paths down where the villager will plot at most. I keep doing this until the game has no choice but to plot the villager at the spot I want it to.

Will do! The problem I'm having is the new amiibo villagers will move almost exactly on top of the villagers' plot I just kicked out. :(

Villagers will NOT move on top of paths/patterns. As far as I know, they will still move on top of everything else that they were able to pre-update.

will villagers really generally move over the spot of the animal they're replacing? o: that's awesome!

Yeah, it will take quite a long time of trying to get them to move to a new location. The update just made it a lot more difficult.
Took me 4 hours one night until my amiibo villager moved out of the old villager's plot area. Would only move like a TINY bit every time, until I got lucky and it moved clear across town in a great place! Just have a lot of patience. good luck!! xx

Sadly this was not the case for ruby. I left the paths around the houses where two other villagers moved from but ruby did not plot anywhere close to the old spots! It is now 5:56 in game and just had to place in so,ethereal I didn't want. I'm so devastated because I thought they were supposed to move where a villager just moved out from :,( I'll probably end up moving her out and using an Amiibo card to skip the 16 villager cycle.
