Plot resetting, but the plot won't appear

I just booted up the game. Before clicking to go to the game, I see one of my villagers walking near a plot. I disliked the location, so I decided to plot reset.
So I create a new character, walk around the town, and there's no plot. I figure I just can't find it, and that I'll reset again.
So I created another new character, and I see a plot. Once again, I dislike it.
I do this again, and there's no villager plot. I've looked everywhere around town twice. I'm afraid to go onto my main in case I get a plot in the middle of my path, but there's a chance that there won't be a villager. Is it normal to get no villager while plot resetting?

that's kinda strange that you saw a plot there, usually when i plot reset i do it right at 6am. ( since towns reset at that time and thats usually when plots show up) but i've never heard of the plot not showing up after seeing one on the home screen.

I'm thinking you just overlooked it, are you sure you've checked everywhere? It could have spawned in a spot where it's hard to see.

I've had to run around my town 2-3 times before finding a villager's plot once xD...sometimes they can be hard to find!

I've checked every nook and cranny, even places where I've never seen villagers try to plot. There's definitely no plot.

Although, my town has glitched before. It's given me bell rocks spawning two 100 bells, and after that, bell rocks spawning no 100 bells.

Yes, this will be my ninth villager, and I didn't invite them from anywhere.

Yes, this will be my ninth villager.

the 9th villager is kinda random when they move in, they might show up after only a couple days but after 5 (i think) it's guaranteed so i suggest creating a new character on days where they don't plot and saving and keep moving on until you find a day where they are guaranteed every time.

does that make sense haha?

edit: unless this is a villager from someone else and not a random move in???? if it's a vill from someone else i have no idea

Yeah, I get what you're saying, but tbh I'm not 100% sure. I've never plot reset for a random move-in that happens to be my ninth villager, but it surely can't be from someone's void, I'd imagine that would work the same as inviting a villager in. My tenth villager took about 20 resets, and he showed up every time.

I'm honestly just really confused, I have no idea whether I should continue plot resetting or what.

It just means that if it's your 9th village, there's only a chance that the villager will plot. You can try to plot reset a few more times and see if that makes a plot appear.

Time has nothing to do with it (the reason why people TT to 6 AM is because that's the start of a new day but any time after 6 AM is fine as long as you haven't loaded on that day yet).

Just as a note. If you ever see a plot on the main title screen then you can just quit and restart and it'll plot in a different place. I had that when I saw Cyrano had plotted in the middle of a path. He ended up plotting exactly where the last person moved out had been. It couldn't be more perfect.

the ninth villager will have a chance of not spawning, maybe you were just unlucky? if you plot reset for the ninth villager, the position will change, but the animal will change aswell :3 (◜◡◝)

Thanks to everyone who replied. I've got it sorted out now, I got rid of the plot and got a dreamie instead. All I need is for him to plot one space over and one space back ;-;
