Plot Reset Question

Hi yall! I'm having some trouble getting a villager to move into the right spot (been trying to reset for 2 days, still no results), and it's probably due to me forgetting to block some spots with paths.
Can I time travel back to a day/2 days before the villager is supposed to plot their house safely? Can I put down some paths, then travel back to the current day, and continue plot resetting? I can't seem to find any answers online, rip.

I have done this once before. If you played the prior day and have not loaded up an existing character since then, you can time travel back to the date you played and fix your patterns. The game will view it as if you're still on that date, not as a new day, so it works.

As long as you haven't loaded your game yet with your mayor, that'll work fine! I have had the same thing happen a couple of times, be sure to check under trees and behind bushes!
