somethings that's always confused me is people who say "omg it took me days to plot blank!!!" but i don't get that bc doesn't it automatically save by 6 am the next day? how is it possible to do plot reset for as long as you want too?

You load up a new character under "New Save File" instead of going to your mayor/ existing characters in "Continue" when you boot up the game.

This doesn't set the plot, so on a day when a new character is set to move in, you can go into your game on a new character and plot reset.

Oh I'm so sorry I derped and misread.

People can take days to plot set if they TT with their 3DS clock. The in-game clock has to be done through an existing character so it doesn't work for this, but the 3DS clock will change your ACNL game's clock without you having to use an existing character. So as long as you keep changing your 3DS date to the day a desired villager is about to move it, the game will always be in that day so you can keep resetting.

I've never had to do this.. I've plot reset for 6 days without changing the 3ds clock.
Unless the only point in doing this is so that you don't miss out on all the days that go by?

I think that's the case; can a villager move out when a plot is being generated? I'd assume not but I'm not 100% sure. In any case, you'd miss any special events going on, like if you were resetting tomorrow and didn't finish you don't want to risk resetting on Halloween.

i'm still confused about this, so u can just keep tting back to 5:57 am every single day?? wouldn't you have to do it through your mayor though

If you use the 3ds clock then it will just change the date of the game, no need to use the mayor.

no a villager cant move out when a plot is placed (if it is your 9th villager that has plotted) but they can decide to mvoe on that day

okay so correct me if i'm wrong, as long as i keep tting back to the time the plot was first put down using the 3ds time, i'm fine? and if i don't care about losing the days in between tting back isn't necessary?

I've plot reset a LOT and this is what I do:
1. I convince a villager to move in from another town
2. Load up my mayor, change the time to 5:58 AM on the next day and save & quit.
3. Wait 2-3 minutes then create a new character and just repeat from there.

The villager will NOT permanently plot in one spot no matter how many days pass as long as you don't load up your mayor. With that said, a villager CAN be in boxes/move out if you take several days to move in your villager. This happened to me when I plot reset for Maple and it took a couple days. When I time traveled one more day to have her house show up after I finished plot resetting, Molly was in boxes.

Sometimes if you had a villager in boxes the same day you picked someone up (but still had 9) or had a 9th moving in as well there are delays in the days. You can check for this by resetting a couple times to make sure they're not there and then time traveling to the next day with your mayor. (My method for this is iffy since I've had villagers plot after loading up several times on new characters and not plotting until I loaded my mayor in)
