Here's what I did:

- Changed the time to 5:58 AM the next day and started as my mayor character (I had to or the time wouldn't of been set.)
- Saved and quit as my mayor character.
- Created a new character and found a house plot.
- Turned my ds off without saving the new character.
- created another new character.
- the plot was in the EXACT same spot with the same villager. I tried this 5 times, and nothing changed.

Help??

If you're plot resetting you can't load your mayor at all. Instead, change your DS clock from your DS settings.

If you remember which exact day you invited your villager on, you actually can set your time back to that day to load your mayor file, and the plot shouldn't be there, as long as you're certain that the last time you saved your mayor file was on the day before the plot should appear.

It's strange how it's on the same spot 5 times though, have you limited plot placements too much with pwps? if you saved before 6am, it shouldn't happen like that with new char resets - just keep trying!

thats so weird, because I plot reset all the time using the in game clock; in fact, the same method you used. it always works fine for me, so maybe it was just a coincidence, because I have probably plot reset 100+ times lol.

I get confused over this issue.
I've never had a plot reset problem because I always change time with the 3ds system before loading up the game.

I change the system clock to the next day, load the game and start up this new day with a new save file. No issues.

Not sure whether part of the problem/confusion is what time is showing on the 3ds and what time is on the game.

The game is an offset of the 3ds system time - they can show exactly the same time, but need not if:
1. when you originally started the town you told Rover on the train a different time to the one he asked you is correct (ie he asks you if the system time is correct).
2. You change time with the Isabelle at the front screen.

If you haven't done 1. and you always change time with the system clock then the system time & ingame time will be the same.

Its not necessary for acnl but it does make life a lot simpler.

The game time is an offset of the system time - ie if your system says 1st Dec 10am and ingame you are running say for example 5 hours behind - then you will always run 5 hours behind - whatever you change your system time to.
If you want both times to be the same then you have to change the times using a 3rd real life clock with a second hand to do this.

I don't fully understand it because I see posts like the OP and then posts as Crash has said.
