So after lots of deliberating, I've decided to reset my town.

It just nagged at me ever since I had a group of people tell me that my town layout was craptastic. Alot of you might think I'm weird, but I've grown severely attached to my villagers and while I hate to see them go, I know they can come back. But I can't fix my town's layout, rock positions, retail/plaza all that without resetting. I love my villagers and want to have them live in a beautiful, well structured town...

I've come very far in only 10 days and if I can come that far alone, I can do it again. The only thing that's a huge bother to me is that I'm going to lose all of my upgrades/furniture/bells/flowers/etc...

I'm also going to go ahead and get a digital copy so I can open up a cycling thread. People here have been incredibly kind to me and I'm willing to return the favor by helping others get their dreamies too. But I have a proposal.

I don't have to necessarily reset my game now. I can have my main game be on the Digital Copy and the cycling town on my card. But should I do that? I don't know, for some reason it feels ingenuine to have it on the digital copy. That's probably just the stupidest thing I could have ever said, but for some reason I'd prefer it on the cartridge...

But the thing about that is that if I lose the cartridge, I lose everything. I suppose it's safer to just have my main on the digital copy...

Another thing is, I'd also like to know if someone is willing to help me transfer things I can keep without any significant damage. I have nearly all my dreamies so I can't necessarily ask someone to take ALL of them in. If anything a max of 2 villagers. But I was hoping I could leave important items such as my tools, certain furniture, bells and things like that in the care of someone else until I get the basic set up of my town squared out...

I don't know anyone here so I don't know who's trustworthy or not... I'd assume most people, but I'm a skeptic.

Can anyone offer me advice on what to do, or if this is even worth discussing? And if anyone was interested in helping me, please post too...

Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings...

I'd be glad to hold anything for you, I can't hold villagers as My town is full. But I certainly can hold items and things like that for you spiffy.

Thanks... At least I can salvage that much...

My second copy is all downloaded... now I have to go through the pain of thinking of a name for my character and my Town... x_x

Hey Redire, I wouldve been glad to help if I had reliable access to wireless right now but I've just moved to a new Apt. and havent had anything set up yet. Anyway, you dont know how many times ive done the same thing on my other Animal Crossing games (usually moving my items to my moms town while I re-set mine) but when I reset my New Leaf town I just decided to scrub everything and not worry about keeping any items or bells. It didnt take me long at all to re-acquire all of the things I wanted. If your town layout is really bothering you itll be worth it, but dont let someone else's opinion of your town affect your own. I know a lot of people on here wouldnt like my layout, my house and dock are about as far as can be from Re-tail, which is in its own little corner of town, its not convenient at all you dont go near it on your way to town hall, the train station, or where Im building my cafe, but this is the layout I scrubbed all my other hard work for and I love it. Its unique to me, I dont mind the extra time it takes to do things and I have lots of ponds and rocks, I dont mind them either... If I were you I might find a diagram of all the possible layouts online, make a definite decision on one, and keep resetting until you get it. Then just learn to live with it. Villagers will probably move right into where you envision putting a project or bridge anyway. Personally id rather have more natural features like trees and ponds than things like benches, and clocks, etc.

I wouldnt dream of messing with anyone elses items if id agreed to hold them, I guess its because im grown, Id get no little thrill from doing something juvenile like that (or holding people hostage on the island like ive heard of) but id probably trust most of the people on this forum, at least the ones I recognize from multiple posts, seems to me lots of people on here would rather enhance instead of ruin someones experience.
