Okay so Diana moved out like yesterday and I'm trading for her today. Would she not be able to come back to my town? Is the 16 villager cycle mandatory??

Sorry, but you will not be able to invite her back into your town until you've completed a 16 villager cycle.

Like Stacie said, there's no way around the 16 villager cycle. Depending on if you TT and how many villagers you are willing to let move out, the process could either be done in a jiffy or take a really long time.

Best of luck to you if you decide to go through with it! If not, you can take this opportunity to try out new faces. :)

I read something about not having to do the 16 villager cycle. I'm not sure about any of this. :((( Diana is so hard to get and I don't wanna lose her. About how long does the 16 villager cycle take? I have a lot of dreamies already, btw

You might have heard that in a different context. The 16 villager cycle doesn't apply in cases of failed adoptions, for example. But in your case, I'm afraid there's really no way around it. If you have a second town, you could take her in while you cycle 16 villagers in your main town.

Sorry to hear this happened. I assume her moving out yesterday was an accident?

Yeah. I couldn't play for a few days and then when I started the game, she was in boxes. I thought I was lucky to find someone who was willing to trade Bam for Diana, since I got Bam into boxes

I might be telling you stuff you already know, but in case you don't I'll tell you two tricks I know of that you can use to make sure you don't lose any of your lovelies:

1. If you're planning to take a break from the game, stop someone from moving on the day you quit. You can then take a break for as long as you'd like without anyone moving out. If you start your game again after a long break, it's more or less guaranteed someone will be thinking of moving, so make sure to find that prisoner.. I mean villager!

2. Write down the day on which you stopped playing. When you start your game up again, create and log in with a new character to see if anyone has moved. If not, you can start your file with your mayor. If yes, TT back to the day on which you last played and stop the villager from moving. After this, you can safely TT back to your current date and start playing normally again.
