So another user "sold" me Muffy yesterday for 1.3 mil. I went to their town, asked her to move it, she said yes, and then they saved the game. About 30 or so seconds after the game finished saving, my internet crashed. The owner of Muffy confirmed that she said she was moving to Batwing (my town) so I didn't worry about going back since I figured things would be fine. Except today, there was no new house plot anywhere.

Worried, I broke my own rules and TT'd a day into the future. No muffy. I TT'd another day, still no Muffy. I put it back to the right date and now I'm just lost and miserable, since as far as can tell, I'm down 1.3 mil and I've lost one of my dream villagers. Does it normally take more than 2 days for a villager you've asked to move in to appear? Please help me ;-;

Look for a house plot around your town as it should appear first if she DID come to your town.
I thought that I might have lost Wolfgang this morning, but I then found his house plot and I was happy!

I've never heard of it taking longer than two days for a villager to appear. Every time i've asked someone to move in from another town, I see the plot the next day. The day after that they are unpacking.

The strangest part is that you said this happened after you were done saving?

ive never heard of this before ??
um
i think due to you losing internet while saving probably lost muffy

Thats what I don't understand either, it had saved so this shouldn't have happened.

It was after it had saved though ;-;

This happened to me too. You either needed to take the train back to your own town or the other person to of ended the session for it to have worked. :(

It took me more than 3 days of TTing for Lolly's house plot to appear for me once. But that could also be due to Mira moving out on the same day I convinced Lolly.

I also don't think you can really "confirm" that a villager will be moving to a definite town.. because after someone convinces them to move, their house will be empty and a sign will say "moved out" and you can't go inside/talk to them.

She just guessed it. You know it works when the other person goes up to the villagers door and it would say "Moved Out." Then the next day the plot would be in your town. Sorry this happened to you. :(

The owner of Muffy confirmed that she said she was moving to Batwing (my town)

This part sounds fishy. As far as I've experienced this is not possible. Once you go to someone's town and invite the villager to move to your town, the villager is gone. If anyone tries to enter the house after the villager agrees to move, they'll see a note with the villager's name listed as "moved out." The house will remain for the rest of the day, but nobody in town can interact with the villager.

Was the other person in the room with you when you invited Muffy to come to your village? Is that when it was confirmed that the villager was moving? Before the internet crash? If the villager agreed to move, the mayor wouldn't be able to speak to her again if she wasn't present at the time. Once you leave the villager's house, it's done. If the other mayor was able to enter Muffy's house and talk to her after you had already left, then something went wrong with the invitation.

That would be because someone was already moving in. If you ask someone to move into your town, they WILL show up the next day unless you have another coming already. If you ask two in the same day, you get the most recent only.

No, I meant that Mira was moving out (not in) on the same day I convinced Lolly (it was a trade - Mira for Lolly).

She said she went to speak to Muffy and muffy said she was moving to batwing ;-; did she lie to me?

This is not possible. She cannot have spoken to Muffy after Muffy agreed to move to Batwing. She may have spoken to Muffy, but Muffy couldn't have confirmed that she was moving to Batwing. Muffy very well may have said that she was moving, but she couldn't have said she was moving to your village. If Muffy was moving to your village, she never would have been able to talk to Muffy after-the-fact.

I searched about your situation because I remember reading it somewhere and I got this from Gamefaqs:

"Even if you convince the villager to move, then save, and the other person disconnects the villager for some reason will not move in. I tested it with someone when they came to take Mott, I saved then they accidentally disconnected. lol so no you can't because disconnecting for some reason even with saving won't allow the villager to move in."

So it looks like you have to leave the station or have the person end the session in order to get the villager to move in. :(

Yeah, if it worked then she wouldn't be able to speak to Muffy afterwards.

I second this because when I gave Dotty away as soon as the other person left it said 'Moved Out' and I couldn't enter her house.. So sorry this had to happen, if I ever see Muffy I'll tell you c:

Have I been scammed out of 1.3 mil then? ;-;

It could have been an honest mistake but Muffy won't be coming to your town. :( I would ask her for your money back if I were you.
