Please help me salvage my town!

Lately I have just been struggling with my town. I feel like it seems really small, there is nowhere to really put what I want to, and I have really messed up with placing my permanent PWPs. (especially my campsite ughhhh)
I don't want to reset because I love my map and I have most of my dreamies, but also every time I play I end up feeling so discouraged because I feel like I can never get it to look the way I'd like it to.
I haven't started landscaping properly because I don't want to invest that much time if I don't like my basic foundations.

Should I just pull down all my PWPs and cut all my trees and try to start from scratch, or do you think there is a way to work with what I already have?

Please be as harsh as necessary, I want all the constructive criticism I can get!! I am just at a total loss for what to do and I am totally bummed out every time I think about it, I need an outsider's point of view!!

You should reset then. I have a second town and I'm much more interested in the game now. You should cycle out your villagers and ask someone to hold them, and then cycle them out to put in your new town if you have someone so dedicated and willing?

Well I used to HATE my town, but after I started landscaping a bit it started to look better over time

The paths are really messy, I recommend dirt paths (I think you are going for the forest feel, or perhaps that's just my intention). The tree placement and choice of kind aren't that great either, I'd go for non-fruit bearing oaks and cedars that are planted densely. I see why you hate your campsite but you can make it look great somehow e.g. you could plant black flowers and some trees around it, like you're trying to hide it.

Mr. resetti and a bunch of rocks get in the way in my paths. But that just makes it look more natural I say to myself... when I rejoined I cut down all my trees and tore my only pwp down and started fresh. It worked out good.

something you can do - cut down EVERY tree. all of them. it'll make your town seem so barren but it really lets you be more creative and do what you want with the space. just make sure you have a golden shovel + lots of bells to grow trees and have some cedar saplings/bushes too

doing this right now!! i have a golden axe but i also had like ten normals stockpiled from before i got it so i'm finally using them!! it's already making such a huge difference!! and i think i'll take the time to actually plan out what i want rather than just doing things randomly (which is what i should have done in the first place, but hindsight is 20/20...)
