Give me your best cheats for Animal Crossing (New Horizons). And with that, give me any of your cheats please!

I think they mean shortcuts, easier routes through the objectives like upgrading the shop and getting K.K.

While these aren't really "cheats" per-say, here are some helpful tips you may not know.

1. When you're making DIY recipes, speed the process up drastically by pressing the A button a few times in quick succession once your character starts crafting. Holding the B button will make animals talk faster too.

2. Pressing B while you move will make you run which can scare off bugs and fish. Any fish scared off by running or reeling in too early will count against Cast Master 3 achievement

3. Use Nooklink app to type in-game
Install the Nintendo Switch Online app on your real-life phone and you'll be able to type whatever you want to say using your device's keyboard. The text then appears above your character's head in-game.
Most people play Animal Crossing: New Horizons during the day. This is only logical, really, but the night is not only filled with different bugs, fish, and calming music but holds some secrets too.

4. At 3:33 AM on Saturdays, players watching their TV will be confronted with a UFO floating on the screen, interrupting the previous static. The alien comes forward and speaks in the same strange language as the villagers. The picture flicks between this and the UFO, and then at 3:34, it returns to the white noise.

5. Wasps Hate Party Poppers If a player holds one and shoots it at an incoming swarm, they will be frightened and disperse before getting a chance to sting players.

6. Gyroids Come With Shelving. They can be put on walls as decorative items as they will automatically have a small shelf.

7. Good Horoscopes Mean Many Bells
Sometimes Isabelle will tell players that she's been reading her horoscope again. This isn't just idle chitchat - it means that in the game it will be a good luck day. Specifically, find the glowing spot that allows players to bury a bag of Bells. The more, the better. In a few days, it will blossom into a tree and will triple the amount of Bells buried.

8. If an island is missing any personality types, then that personality is more likely to show up at the campsite.

9. Different Villagers Teach Different Emotes
Every personality type has different emotes they can teach. If you want all the emotes in game, it is best to have one villager of each personality type live on the island for a good period of time.
Normal villagers include Glee, Pleased, Fearful, Sadness, and Daydreaming.
Peppy villagers teach Mischief, Happiness, Aggravation, Sleepy, and Curiosity.
Snooty villagers teach Love, Amazed, Sighing, Thought, and Intense.
Sisterly villagers teach Confident, Laughter, Cold Chill, Apologetic, and Disagreement.
Lazy villagers teach Pride, Shyness, Mistaken, Bashfulness, and Sorrow.
Jock Villagers teach Flourish, Sneezing, Distress, Shocked, and Encouraging.
Cranky villagers teach Agreement, Worry, Inspiration, Sheepishness, and Bewilderment.
Smug villagers teach Showmanship, Dozing, Heartbreak, Smirking, and Resignation.

10. Using A Toilet causes the fruit meter to go down. This is convenient if players accidentally ingest any food items, but don't want to worry about digging up or breaking anything.

11. Talk To A Neighbor While Stung To Learn Medicine Recipe
If players get stung by a wasp, their face becomes messed up. Speak to a villager after having been stung, and they will provide a DIY recipe for medicine. It is a very easy one too - it only requires the wasp nest and three weeds.

12. Stone Axes will not cut trees down, but they will allow wood to be harvested from them. Iron axes will let players harvest resources too, but will cut the tree down as well. This is also true for rocks. If players want to harvest from rocks, stick with the stone ax. An iron ax will break the stone.

if you let, say, a cedar tree grow only a few stages (as in not fully grown) and you plant a fruit tree sapling next to it, it will stunt the cedar tree's growth. you can use the trick to add more interesting scenery to your island, works with any tree and it's recommended to plant the fruit tree sapling behind it so it's out of sight :)

There are no cheats other than time travel.
Some possibilities with Time Travel:
  • per day, you can receive infinite: Savings interests, Money Trees, Money Rocks.
  • Move more than 1 buildings per day, and have them all finished moving on the same day.
  • Buy turnips whenever you want
  • Get villagers (any number of villagers) to move out this day.
  • Get villagers photos in a day.
  • Experience any holiday you want whenever you want.
  • Experiance any time of day at any time of day. Never tried 3:00am because you're sleeping? Go to 3:00am right now.
  • Need more time for bug/fish tournament? Time Travel backwards some hours.
  • Shops closed because it's late or it's too early? Time travel forwards and backwards some hours.
  • Fund and open all shops on Harv's island in 1 day.
  • Complete the prologue in 1 day.
  • Infinite access to 5x and 2x Nook Mile tasks.
  • Access to Flick and CJ anytime

There may be some glitch exploits floating around, but Nintendo has really patched all that I know of, and are probably still patching out any that continue to be found.

Nintendo has patched all possible cheats, unless you count time travel as a cheat.

But Nintendo is pretty good at patching those. They're probably trying to prevent time travel too. I mean they're probably aware it exists. Do something like Stardew where the game runs on its own 24 hour clock that you cant skip. Each day you log in its morning of the same day. xD

your better off either tting if you really want, or just play the game.

Resident Services BuildingConstruct houses for three villagers.

How to Unlock Golden Tools

Golden tools are the most durable versions in the game. Earn their DIY recipes by completing the following:

Golden ToolUnlocking Method
Golden AxeBreak 100 axes (any type).
Golden NetCatch all bugs and donate them to the museum.
Golden RodCatch all fish and donate them to the museum.
Golden ShovelHelp Gulliver 30 times.
Golden SlingshotPop 300 balloons to make a golden balloon appear—shoot it down!
Golden Watering CanAchieve a 5-star island rating.

Unlocking Sable’s Secret Patterns

Sable, the shy hedgehog at Able Sisters, has hidden customization patterns. Talk to her daily for 7-10 days to receive them. She will eventually provide ten sets, each containing 20 patterns, which can be applied to furniture using the Pattern option in the customization menu.

Using QR Codes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

You can import custom designs using QR codes from previous Animal Crossing games. Use the Nintendo Switch Online app and scan them into New Horizons via the NookLink feature.

Maximizing Resources from Rocks

To get the most resources from rocks:

  1. Dig holes behind you before hitting a rock.
  2. This prevents knockback, allowing you to extract up to 8 items per rock.

Easy Money-Making Tricks

  • Hit the Money Rock Daily – One rock on your island will drop Bells instead of materials. Use the trick above to maximize earnings.
  • Find and Plant Money Trees – Look for glowing cracks in the ground. Dig them up for Bells and bury some back in the glowing hole to grow a money tree.
  • Catch Rare Fish – Fishing during rainy weather increases your chances of catching valuable fish like the Coelacanth (15,000 Bells).

Getting Free Furniture From Trees

Every day, two random trees on your island (and at least one on each Mystery Island) will drop furniture when shaken. Fruit trees do not drop furniture, so focus on regular trees.

Finding Star Fragments

  • Look for shooting stars at night.
  • When you see one, unequip any tools, look up, and press A to make a wish.
  • The next morning, star fragments will wash up on your beach.

Reaching a 5-Star Island Rating

Follow Isabelle’s guidance to improve your island rating. She may suggest adding decorations, plants, or infrastructure.

  • Ensure every section of the island has at least one decoration.
  • Once you reach 5 stars, Lily of the Valley flowers will start appearing on cliffs.

Time Travel Cheat in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Since the game follows your Nintendo Switch’s internal clock, adjusting the system date can fast-forward time.

  • Advancing one day refreshes resources and speeds up construction.
  • Be careful! Skipping too far ahead can cause weeds to overgrow and villagers to consider leaving.

Critters, Seasons, and Hemispheres

At the beginning of the game, you choose between Northern or Southern Hemisphere, which determines seasonal cycles.

  • Different bugs and fish appear in different seasons.
  • Visit a friend’s island in a different hemisphere to catch seasonal critters ahead of time.

Messy Hair Easter Egg

  • If you don’t play for 30 days, your character will wake up with bed hair.
  • Once unlocked, this messy hairstyle becomes permanently available in mirrors.
---

How to Make a Villager Move Out

  • Complaining to Isabelle won’t remove villagers.
  • Instead, ignore them, hit them with a net, and push them repeatedly.
  • Once they have a thought bubble over their head, encourage them to leave.

I know this is an old thread but -

5. Wasps Hate Party Poppers If a player holds one and shoots it at an incoming swarm, they will be frightened and disperse before getting a chance to sting players.
I missed this! Now I have to try it. 😄
Probably get stung working out the timing, but still, worth it? Thx for the tip!

10. Using A Toilet causes the fruit meter to go down. This is convenient if players accidentally ingest any food items, but don't want to worry about digging up or breaking anything.

Proof that resurrecting old threads is entertaining and informative. Wasn't it mistreil using all the toilets on the island tours? Next time - load up on fruit beforehand? 😄

If you don't like the fortune Katrina gives you, soft reset before she finishes telling you your luck and start over from the last save until you get the one you want

Correlated, if you get a good luck with belongings fortune, Kapp'n will take you to one of the seasonal Mystery Islands. However, doing it this way locks each island until you've cycled through them all. So if, say, you get the mushroom island or the shooting star island after getting your fortune, you won't get it that way again until you've gotten all the rest and restarted the cycle.

Doing random visits without getting your fortune told first won't lock you out, but your odds of getting any of them drop to something like 1/20something instead of 1/7

Random information I've picked up:

-If you rapidly press the 'A' button when a wasp nest falls out of a tree, you're almost guaranteed to catch the wasp if you're already holding a net.

-If you're broke, burying anything less than 1,000 bells will still net you 3,000 bells.

-Alternatively, burying anything between 3,000 - 9,999 is a potential loss since it's a 70% chance you'll still only get 3,000 back.

-On a similar note, 10,000+ will land you 30k 70% of the time with a 30% chance to triple the exact amount you buried.

-If you want to stop having to pick up the sticks around your trees, hide some out of sight so they don't spawn more in. ((I think this worked for me with 5 and I put them on the back ledge of my island))

-Similarly, burying 4-5 fossils out of sight will stop more from spawning each day.

-Flowers don't spread on the beach!!! They also don't spread if you put fence or a stone terrain around them!

-You can put down transparent custom tiles to stop the spread of flowers if you don't want to put anything around them and want it to look natural.

-Using the power of weeds and custom designs, you can control the placement of your rocks if you really want to. Don't even start it though if you don't have a godly amount of patience and time.

-You can tell how to appropriately approach a tarantula/scorpion by its body language and sounds.

-Buying fake artwork from Redd on Harv's island helps cycle through the artwork faster so you have more of an opportunity to get real artwork faster ((read as I'm impatient and don't like waiting an entire week for his stock to change))

-You can used Cyrus to help fill out your catalog if you have enough bells since he can change the colors of items you already have.

-It doesn't matter if you think you have too many weeds, Leif won't help you clean them up unless there's 300. Which is good if you want to use weeds for the above rock maneuvering, but bad because your island spawn limit for weeds is 150... meaning there will never be enough for him to help you.

-Just like you'll get messy hair in 30 days, it takes a month of inactivity for cockroaches to infest your house too.

-Give up and feng shui your house if you want the highest ranking from the HHA. Plaster your house with trophies and villager pictures. I've had the same island since the game came out in 2020 and every single attempt I made failed until I gave up.

-You can use an ABD machine that's on someone else's island if they manually put one down, but storage containers or dressers don't work.

-If you're a cheapskate like me, just drop things you want to sell in front of your shop to sell in the morning instead of losing commision on the drop box.

-If you don't need to immediately sell bugs/fish, saving them to sell to CJ/Flick nets you a bigger income.

-You can change the color of gyroids, meaning you don't have to collect them all to catalog them all.

I'll add more bits and pieces as I think of them.

not sure if these were already listed but you can plant trees on the edges of cliffs (must be the second or third tier). if you make a 3x3 cliff (or bigger) and then remove 1 of the corners, and then waterscape on the ground a square on each side of the corners and then another connecting the two squares (should be rounded, not another square so you MUST make the squares on each side first), then you can plant a fully grown tree on the square diagonal to the piece you took out of the cliff (or the center square if you made a 3x3 cliff). then go around and start "shaving" the cliff down so it's on the edge. if it says you can't, try from a different angle. it's hard to explain but if you search "how to plant trees on edges of cliffs" you can see tutorials. it took me a lot of trial and error but i'm now much better at it.

when decorating outside, if you want to put an item placed on top of a table, counter, etc but facing INWARD, it is possible you have to go to one of the ends and then face parallel and slightly inward diagonally to the table and then you can place the item. if your angle is off, it won't work. alternatively you can stand at the end, next to the table facing parallel and then place a random item on the floor and then when you put down the item you want facing inward, it'll be placed inward.

flowers can be "cloned" in this game. if you place a flower, it can reproduce without any other adjacent flowers. this applies to hybrids as well as regular flowers.

you can add custom designs to "polishing" effects. you can make a fire effect, floating ghosts, etc. here's a great article by mod justin!

I’ve had good results using Kernaim cheats for quick progress, especially for getting rare items without grinding forever. It made things way smoother for me and saved a bunch of time. If you're stuck or just want to speed things up a bit, it's worth trying out.
