How does trading villagers work?
How do i trade one villager away? (ive got one in boxes atm)
How do i make one villager to move out? (who is not currently notified willing to go)

im so new at this, see lovely villagers passing by in threads, but have no clue how to work with it.

have so many more questions, but this is atm my top one :P

feel free to contact any staff member with any question (via private message.)
When a villager is in boxes, you can make a thread in the villager trading forum and say ___ is in boxes. You can trade for them, auction them, etc.
Whoever you sold it to can come and talk to the villager, and they will ask if they can move to their town.

Well, you can have up to 10 villagers in your town at any one time. No new villager can or will move in once you're at 10.
When you get to 9 villagers, you can then come and get another from the trade boards or you may accidently get one through streetpass (I keep my town full to avoid this).
When you're at 8 villagers one will move in randomly (the game will make this happen) or you can again come here and buy a villagers.

To buy or trade villagers -
When one of yours is moving, they will give you a date. When that day arrives they will be packed up ready to move, this is when somebody can come over and talk to that villager. If the person has space that villager will agree to move to their town (this applies to you if you're going to collect a villager too).
For villager trading. Same thing, only you need to make sure you have a space in your town for the villager you're collecting (even if the villager you're trading from your town is all packed up, you can't get anybody else to agree to move in until they leave completely).

I find it easier just to either sell or buy villagers separately. Trading is only simple if at least one of the towns of the people involved have a space available.

You can also change the clock to get to the moving villagers date (if you wish) to speed things up and then change back once it's complete.

Does that make sense to you at all? Feel free to ask if you're not sure what I'm on about haha

whenever a villager moves away you can invite someone over to come take them... when they come visit they can talk to the villager and ask them to come to their town..

thanks all for the explanation! makes more sense now.

going to make a thread for my boxed villager to sell:)

uhm. another question.

if a deal has made to trade something (item or villagers) how does the transaction work?

i.g. trade my villager for x amount of igb?

does anyone know how long you have to find someone to trade? like how long are they in boxes for before moving?

Pretty sure you can work that out with the trader, I would usually ask them to pay before I invite them to the village

It's random, it's usually 5 days from the day they tell you they're leaving. They will give you a date when they're going to be in boxes

You should ask the buyer to pay you first since you cant undo a trade once they have talked to the moving villager. If it's tbt, they should pay you a few minutes before they come over to your town and if it's igb, they should drop them into your town before they talk to the villager.
