These kind of text formats are tools for small things to stand out, not for whole text.

Ok so, I have seen people sometimes write their whole post like this. And yes it's very hard to read, if there is a lots of text. Other thing is very light color, which also hurt eyes, if needed to read big amount. It can trigger migraine. Yep, not fun.

I understand if you like this kind of aesthetics, but like, most important is that everyone could read what you have to say.

So please, don't be this person:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Proin auctor porttitor suscipit.
Phasellus ullamcorper felis sed tortor sollicitudin interdum. Vestibulum condimentum condimentum imperdiet.
Curabitur commodo nisi nec quam commodo ornare. In ut porttitor ante, non euismod odio.
Aliquam at fermentum odio. Aliquam rutrum, sapien vitae luctus congue, enim felis imperdiet nunc, at sagittis risus elit id eros.
Proin est enim, mollis ac volutpat et, blandit sit amet erat. Curabitur vulputate elit vel dui pharetra varius.
Maecenas non quam id nisl accumsan elementum. Maecenas interdum et risus sit amet venenatis.

Thanks.

also using fancy font text instead of the ones available (which arent that easy to read either) ive seen this more on other websites but instead of 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 it comes out like 🖾🖾🖾🖾 for other people who dont have their software updated

this.

and yeah if people use cursive curled fonts with tiny pastel text i basically ignore it.

When I played on gaia a million years ago it was kind of mandatory in some Rp threads to have a styled post. Like typically the normal text would be average black text but the speaking bits were of a different color and sometimes it would switch from paragraph to paragraph. In normal posts I kind of adapted this and would end up typing in super tiny and pink fonts because that was just the thing tbh lol. Like the pink part was all me but rp text was usually made smaller since we were writing a ton and it took up a huge part of the page sometimes.

It wasnt until after I left gaia that I realized it was annoying af since no one else in any forums or sites did this lol. My eyes also got worse so i cant even read what i used to write sometimes lmaoooo

omg yes i remember this gaiacringe (and lots of its forums were like stylized lmfao) im glad i stayed away.

i mean nothing wrong doing a nice first post but don't make people lose their eyesight

im ok with small text for the most part but when it's small and a light colour i simply will not read it.

i also won't read an entire post that's bold regardless of font, i find that harder to read than small text.

I don't like reading posts that are small and are in pastel colors too. Sometimes I can read the small letters, but if it's in a color that's too hard to read, I kinda have no choice but to ignore it. I know some people like to post in small letters, but it can be just too hard to read sometimes... :/

if it’s in small text and is important for me to read, i will read it but i generally ignore text that’s in light colours as it’s hard for me to read lol

I generally skip over heavily stylized posts especially when the font is tiny or a bright/pastel color. Like ok it look cute but I can?t read it.

I don't have the best eyesight so I'm definitely not a fan of size 1 colored fonts or glittery images, so I'll tend to just skip over posts like these unless they're reported.

Broswer add-ons like Stylebot can convert any substandard text back to the default, so there is an option to "disable" custom fonts if they really bother you. That said, I would never tell or ask someone not to use colors or fonts outside of the defaults, as people can and should express themselves however they see fit. If they're willing to run the risk of less conversational involvement from others who may be annoyed by their text style of choice, then that's entirely their decision and I don't think they should be made to feel bad about it.

I’ve noticed that once in a while, say, every tenth post or so, what I’ve typed up will randomly display in a smaller size. I have yet to figure out why it happens, and am not sure if it even displays at that size or just the default for others. Feel free to let me know if you ever notice—it is not an intentional choice, but quite the mystery ~.~

I don't know that there should be rules against posts like this. As hard as they are to read, it's their aesthetic choice, I guess. If I'm having a hard time reading something (eye strain) I just skip it or paste it into Notepad to remove all the formatting.

Are you on mobile? Often mobile browsers will increase the minimum font size for websites that haven't been optimised for mobile, but this can sometimes give inconsistent results. If you're on mobile and your post just shows up differently after leaving a quick reply, it's probably only on your end. :)
