Screens really aren't decisive on this.. It could be taken in someone's own town and they simply claim it was another.
I really don't see how to prove this one aside from many successes and word of mouth.

I've read somewhere else that you must have at least one open inventory space and AT LEAST 5000 bells before they'll suggest a game. Did you meet those criteria?

A screenshot of a villager in a campsite saying they'll move to your town isn't solid proof since we don't know if that campsite isn't actually in your own town.

I don't know why you would lie, but I'm not trusting people on tumblr. I still don't believe this is possible or else it would be widely known from the Japanese already.

Well then a recording would work, from the time traveled into the town tot he moment the villager finally accepts. This is possible with everyones cell phones now. Unless yours is garbage.

So many people are claiming this, and every single one of them don't have screenshots.

I recommend trying in two different scenarios.

1) The host of the camper DOES have a slot open for a villager to move in as does the visitor.

2) The host DOESN'T have a slot open for a villager while the visitor does.

Number 2 COULD be a factor as for why there are so many failings. Please note, I am not saying this works, just giving out theories if people enjoy experiments.

I didn't mean this post to cause so much controversy. Admittedly I continued trying for about 3 hours yesterday and didn't get the prompt so maybe I'm on crack or something, I don't know. But the others who've gotten the prompt as well are good friends of mine and I believe they have no reason to lie about this, and neither do I.
Look at the amount of posts I have here and the feedback rating I have. I'm here because I want to help people & make ACNL friends. Not to spread rumors and lies. Why would I risk all the friends I've made here by posting this if I didn't think it was true? If you want to think I posted this just to laugh at people then that's fine. But I'm going to continue trying to prove this as a possible occurrence.
I haven't bumped this thread except when I'm replying to someone else because I realized after making it that I should have waited until I had screenshots as proof. If I could delete it & remake it when I do have proof, I would. But as far as I know, that's not an option. If you think I'm a liar, don't keep bumping this thread up to spread what you believe is false information.

I think it's more just an awareness thing. I'd LIKE to see someone post some sort of proof. The more people that know about it, the more can try to provide proof. Or else we'll know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it just doesn't work. Personally, I'm glad you brought attention to it, even without the proof.

I mean, why is it that I come from Reddit, find someone claiming the exact same thing with the "Oops, I forgot to screenshot". Then there's someone on gamefaqs with the same excuse. Then there's some more people on Tumblr that are just saying "Man, I forgot the screenshot"

Not really trying to blame you for anything, but I just feel all of you are friends that are working together in an attempt to confuse the whole AC community as a whole by posting this on every forum board and laugh at how gullible everyone can be

I think it's true but the dialogue is probably quite vague.. With something like 'I love camping, I want to go somewhere else next time..' So people won't have the initial thought of screenshotting it or something
It's a far call but can't think of any other reason why there's no pictures

I'm very skeptical of the claim, too. I have an open space; if someone has a camper and wants to open their gates to me, I can come and try. I was hoping for a camper this morning, but I reset a couple of times and gave up when there was never a tent today.
