Pleasant Surprises

I've read quite a few threads on bad surprises, e.g. dreamies accidentally moving out, people getting scammed or stolen from during online interactions, harassments whilst Club Tortimer, so I thought I'd start a thread to discuss more positive surprises.

I actually got one of these this morning - I had started work on constructing Katrina's shop on Main Street, and I'd been paying it off slowly, about 10,000 Bells a day. Yesterday, I arranged to buy some sets of furniture on the TBT Marketplace subforum, and the interaction went well. This morning I woke up, started up my game, and Isabelle told me that Katrina's shop was open! Turns out my visitor went ahead and paid off the rest of the construction fee without me knowing . It was a nice surprise.

Another time I arranged to buy some DLCs, and the person threw in some bonus gold roses without me knowing as well. I only stumbled upon them on my daily fossil run.

Anyone have similar stories?

Once someone paid off my lighthouse that still had 200,000 or something on it. It's also really nice to get a cute villager in the campsite, or from a random move in. I just got Lolly from the site and Mira from a random and I love them both!

One time I arranged to trade with a japanese person off of Club Tortimer and I was gonna give her a Cool Globe and we agreed that she would pay 200k for it (Her offer) When we did the trade she gave me all the un-orderable JP DCL! She has, to this day let me into her town whenever there is a Japan Event going on so I can get the rare item!

having o'hare unexpectedly move in after thinking that i'd really like him as a dreamie. i've also had pleasant experiences with traders and their friendliness, but my anxiety really stops me from carrying on more of an interaction with them.

I had a simular experience. I met a guy at ct. We traded rare dlc with eachother.Anytime he would get something rare, he would get an extra for me. I would return the favor.I haven't seen him in awhile, but i've met quite a few good ac friends from ct.

I've had people pay off my PWPs too which is so nice. A lot of people leave me tips for my cycling thread in blue roses/other hybrids. Probably the nicest thing was when I was relatively new to the site I offered to give someone a basket of perfect apples for free, because you know, they regenerate no big deal. Turns out they got the apples from somewhere else, but the person tipped me 100 tbt just for offering! I was amazed and so happy! So now I always tip people when they're nice to me as well c:

Received a sandcastle from a Japan player at CT. Offered bells but the player said it was a gift.
It was the last island item. Each time I see it I think about how kind she was.

That Big Top is always there with the medicine. Even when he's sick.

The most pleasant surprise I've ever had is having a villager move out, and logging on without starting a new character on accident. I don't really do much of the game manipulation; I like playing it naturally, but the idea of having a house plop onto my flowers (which just take FOREVER to get) was frustrating, so I decided to do plot resetting.

Well, I forgot. So I log on with my mayor, and as I walk out of my house I realize my mistake. I panic, and start looking
for the new plot (since I only had 8 villagers, it was pretty likely I would get a new one), and find the plot.

The back story here is that Tangy has been my favorite villager since ACGC. I'm not so dreamie crazy that I'd go buy her, because (like I said), I like playing the game naturally. But it turns out that she is the villager moving in, and not only that, she didn't plop her house onto any flower beds. I think the corner of her plot clipped one so that I lost one pink rose, and that was it.

Overall, a nice surprise.

Well it's always nice when one of your villagers wears your custom design and it suits them perfectly. I've also had quite a few lucky encounters with dreamies (in campsite and just random move ins).

Last summer, I was on Club Tortimer with a Japanese girl. She didn't understand much English, but she was able to have a few simple conversations. We played for hours together and she was really sweet! I wish I remembered her name so I could know if I met her again ; o ;

This morning, I found out Merengue was moving in! She plotted where Roscoe and my mayor live in the corner of the map. >u< Now we are a cute little trio. Everyone else lives pretty far apart from one another, so it's nice to have such close neighbors.

I was getting lucky clovers from a user here and once I was done loading my lockers full, they stopped me and told me that the two wrapped presents here were for me. The whole time I thought they were for dream address visitors. Surprised me! Inside were a pinwheel and bubble wand. It was SUPER sweet. I teared up a little. ;__; <3

I was arranging a trade to get one of my dreamies back - fuchsia, and subsequently tt-ing to move someone out, when lo and behold guess who appears as a random move in In a brilliant spot too!

I met a Korean girl on Club Tortimer once. We chatted a bit as she knows enough English for us to converse I told her that I was looking for a whirlpool bath and she promptly offered me one. But unfortunately, I had to turn down the offer since my town at the time only had 9 villagers and my sister was adamant that we don't do trades with only 9 villagers in town. It was very nice of her to offer though

And there was another time that I offered help to a forum member to transfer items between her towns. I got some bush starts, saplings, hybrids, and balloons in return. I wasn't expecting anything in return and it was awfully nice of her to leave me some goodies ^^

I just learned yesterday that if you go to a villagers house, they can request you bring another villager over to there house. I don't know why, but it made my day. Can't believe I just encountered this.

I have had positive experiences too. People leaving tips and presents when you let them use your Re-tail, people letting me pick villagers from their towns, random visitors dropping baskets of perfect fruits. I've paid someone pwp off once too. I always check them but more often then not they are already fully paid. It's such a nice feeling to help others. I just think someone gave me a chance one day when I had 0 wi-fi rating and trusted me so it's my way of paying it forward.

While visiting CT a person arrived and said that my dream town was recommend by another CT player.
She said she visited and like it. Surprised and it was very sweet.

I had come back from a very long break and played for a week before realizing when I checked my PWP's out of curiosity that a villager had already requested the Police Station.
