I've made this tread to discuss what people feel about playing god with their save files and Time Traveling. I used to use this site way back in 2014, back when I was only 13, and back then I used to TT like no tomorrow! I had massive perfect fruit orchards and hybrid farms that I used to make quite a bit of money off of. I never really felt anything bad about it. I had the biggest house with all the expansions and I had a really nice looking town (at least, 13 y/o me thought it looked nice!).

However, I dug back up my 3DS in the last few days, after not touching it in at least 2 years. I've decided to try and get as far as I can in the game, as legit as possible, trying to attain what I had done in Kilkenny (Named my old town after the county I live in!), in my new town Richmond.

Do you feel that TT'ing or the likes is a good way to get things done quickly, or do you feel it's better to keep things legit, like I'm currently trying to do!

Honestly TTing isn't cheating so it's still legit to TT or not.

I too TT alot, but I get bored of the days after about an hour of play, and I don't always have time to play. This also means if I never did TT, I would only be able to play a little bit during the afternoon time and a lot during the nighttime. By the time I get home from work all the shops are closed and nearly all, if not all, of the animals are asleep. My encyclopedia would struggle to get filled.

TTing def helps get things done faster; you can landscape, build PWPs, house plot, dreamie adopt, make bells, just everythin faster without having to wait for a certain time, like late at night for beetle hunting, or waiting an actual irl 4 days for a villager to move in.

i’ve never considered TT to be cheating; animal crossing isn’t a competitive game nor one you can ‘win’, but is instead a game that you play how you want and at your own pace; if that includes time travelling, so be it.

as for me, i time travelled a lot in new leaf; i’m going to try and not time travel in new horizons, especially since time travel might not even be an option, but i might time travel at some points if i get bored

I don't consider an open option for all to be cheating. Nintendo, themselves, were already aware that players used time travel in the game and left it in.

I often time travel myself, but that's mainly because the game moves a little too slow and once I've dug up fossils, bought new items, ect. there's nothing else to do other than talking to my villagers whose dialogue tends to be too similar or often repeated in New Leaf.

While I don't consider time traveling to be cheating, it's just not something I like to do. I love playing the game day to day in a slower, relaxing pace. I always have more than enough things to do, whether it's fishing, bug catching, landscaping, decorating my house, going to the island, visiting dream addresses, or the simple pleasure of chatting with my villagers or taking a break to enjoy the scenery in a particularly pleasant area of town. I've never felt the need to rush ahead to get things done.

So I don't judge others for time traveling, but it's not for me.
