Placing Houses/Plots on tiles?

So I’m sure I’ve seen this, but every time I try to place a villager house on a tile pathway (either placed in island designer mode or manually) the pathway disappears. Any work arounds? Because it’s getting to be incredibly frustrating!

Same problem here...I don't think it's currently possible to put a path anywhere under the house besides the two tiles at the entrance. Would really like to put them on some stone

That’s such a bummer! Nice to know I’m not doing something wrong. That’s such a weird thing not to include.
