So I finished listening to the second season of the Mouse Madness podcast. Going over my analysis:
  • Lilo & Stitch won it all, with Lion King getting in 2nd place. Aladdin and The Emperor’s New Groove also made it to the final four. Judging by how these movies made it to the end, it seems that people have finally warmed up to the era Disney was at its worst. Or not, because those who were kids at the time Disney was at its worst are now over 30, and when they become old enough to influence overall scores, these movies will be more beloved. To be fair, Lilo & Stitch and The Emperor’s New Groove were the two better movies at the time Disney was at their worst.
  • The only two Disney movies released prior to the Disney Renaissance that made it to the Sweet Sixteen are Fantasia and The Jungle Book. The Disney Renaissance films were The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Hercules, and Mulan. This means that half of the movies in the Sweet Sixteen are released in the 21st century. This means that the appeal to the classics Disney has cherished and pushed among all generations is fading among today’s audiences.
  • Speaking of which, three of the Disney movies that had a diamond release in the 2010s (Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians) did not make it past the first round, with Alice in Wonderland taking it the worst. I can see the other two movies losing since they were put against Atlantis and Encanto (which were more popular among younger generations), but Alice in Wonderland losing to an even more unpopular movie (The Great Mouse Detective) was the big surprise. Even The Lion King losing to Lilo and Stitch wasn’t as surprising.
  • The movie that unfortunately had the worst record in this season’s Mouse Madness is The Sword in the Stone. There are several other movies that are worse, but if you want to know the coincidence, The Sword in the Stone is the only full-length Disney animated feature produced during Walt Disney’s lifetime to not be cherished as a classic (the other twelve full-length Disney movies, plus the four big hits of the Disney Renaissance, were among those 16 cherished classics).
Seeing the poorer performance among the Walt Disney era films in Mouse Madness kinda tells me that these movies don’t resonate with today’s audiences. Dumbo, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, and The Jungle Book, they all have the same problem. But what I need more explanation on is why these movies don’t resonate with today’s audiences:
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (as well as why Snow White not being one of the main princesses anymore is a good thing)
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Pinocchio
  • Sleeping Beauty

I know all of us dislike AI and with good reason, but how do we know someone is? I've often thought others were using AI only to find out they were not. AI had to have stolen everything it's able to do from someone else. I wonder if others here or elsewhere have thought I've used AI in my posts. I hate AI. I think I've brought that up plenty of times lol, but these programs had to have replicated their writing style from someone before.

I keep getting these posts spammed all over my feeds from different pages. The same exact placement of em dashes, the same manner of speaking every time.

ChatGPT *loves* writing 'it's not just ____, it's _______'. (fill in the blanks with whatever).

It feels like an over enthusiastic salesman is preaching at me.

There are also websites that can check for generative text but use your own discretion.

In the case of this screenshot, it's 100% generated text confirmed by multiple websites. Also this page just spams these exact same lifeless posts over and over.

For some reason, when I'm scrolling social media I become much more alert to it. I think it's because most people on hobbyist pages that I follow do not write fully formal posts that look like they could be a professional script for an advertisement.

It makes these generative posts stick out like a sore thumb.

Oh no I totally get what you're saying and it's why I didn't really at you since my post wasn't really directed to you. I just read your post and it made me think of the times I read about others not wanting to interact with another because they write like AI. And I feel like if we don't really know if they are or not we shouldn't be dismissing them. Since it could just be the way they write and then AI copied off of them.

Again that's really not about your replies. Just wanted to clarify. Some cases are so blatantly obvious.
