I wish everyone got their phones confiscated... There's no need to have a phone at school. There's no need to have a cell phone, period, actually. It's just a waste of money.

Would you have rather the virginia tech shootings gone on longer?

true emergencies like that are thankfully very rare. teachers and professors, i'm sure, always have their phones with them.
i don't agree with not needing to have a cell phone at all, though. It's a great convenience that helps people everyday.
it's just not necessary to have a phone turned on during school hours. if you had a family emergency your parents would have to call the school anyway to let them know, so there's really no advantage to having it in class. except for talking to friends. and i don't think that's allowed

Can't call when the gunman is obviously going to watch the teacher.

you've got better odds hitting the lottery and getting run over by a bus in the same day than having a gunman shoot up your school. you can't let the media freak you out like that.

I do not even use my Cell Phone during my Periods.
But it is funny when other students get caught then have their Text messages read by the Teacher.

Teachers have no right to do that, but they do it anyway.
I have no respect for teachers, and my attitude towards them shows it.

i have already taken geometry and i'm in precal but i have 45 mins where i don't have a class and since all classes besides freshmen classes are 90 mins those 45 mins i could only take geometry so since its easy i'm taking it again. and i have proven my geometry teacher wrong so many times and found all her stupid mistakes... some teachers can be dumb...

What? No they don't. I'm pretty sure they don't have payphones in the middle of a highway or on a country road. The only places you find pay phones now are on main street corners in big cities and by gas stations.

What if the four peoples phone numbers you have memorized don't pick up? A lot of people don't carry change on them either.
