That's why I broke contact with them years ago.
We were quite close during the Tilikum/Blackfish era, but I got to talking with a set of famous twins who do a lot of work with kittens, mainly, and they let me in on what PETA was about.
A cult, they called it.
I called PETA out on how can they speak out for abused animals when they have so many healthy puppies and kittens PTS.
They said they were helping them.
Doing a kindness.
I asked if we should put homeless humans to sleep as well, since they come off as wanting equal rights for animals, and they had no answer.
No animal should be killed, EVER, unless you are defending yourself in a life-threatening situation against one.

peta is gross. they're seriously trying to ruin people's virtual fun, have said a lot of stuff that isn't accurate or reasonable (remember the stuff about woolio back around pokemon's release? like seriously, if you're gonna say something, do the research), and more, when they have SERIOUSLY taken people's healthy pets and euthanized them. they're so hypocritical.
i mean, to an extent, i agree with their message and all, appreciate and respect animals. but the ends they go to with their scare tactics are disgusting.

exactly! I can't even start with how dumb it is to protest against a fictional owl that brings awareness to children (and adults) about animals and the enviroment.

Yeah, it's even grosser because it's geared toward kids. That's my problem with a lot of the stuff PETA does,, it's pitched toward kids. Take veganism for example - a good idea in theory, but super tough to maintain a balanced diet in practice. I 100% support vegans and what they're doing, and recognize that it's definitely possible to live a healthy vegan lifestyle, but it is hard if you don't do research. Now imagine a bunch of kids decide they're just gonna suddenly become vegan, without research into what that'll look like and their protein sources, etc. They won't be able to eat healthy that way unless their parents are on board, and many may not be.
Sorry for the soapbox, I just get super irritated when any one group tries to convert kids. I think they should be exposed to lots of different ideologies and have the freedom to decide when they get older.

I saw that and read the whole thing thinking it’s a joke. There are worse things than catching pixilated bugs and fish and donating them to museums. It’s probably just an excuse to push their vegan agenda because NH is so popular right now. Peta is the worst.
PETA reminds me of one girl I knew who was totally against the idea of having a pet and thought it was animal abuse. Keep in mind she had a pet dog, but that was totally okay and not abuse.
My poor cat, constantly has food and water, always wants to snuggle with me, loves to talk to and follow me... he’s so unfortunate, he should have just been left abandoned in that trailer park... I’m horrible.

Yeah, can’t believe it, should’ve left my cat at the shelter and let her get euthanized.. can’t believe that she has a fam that loves her and carry her to her food bowl when she wants..My poor cat, constantly has food and water, always wants to snuggle with me, loves to talk to and follow me... he’s so unfortunate, he should have just been left abandoned in that trailer park...
