Pet peeves with AC travelers

One of my pet peeves is when a traveler disappears and then doesn't respond for awhile, especially if it's their first time playing with me. If we've been friends for a while and you decide to wander off, I'm fine with that because I know and trust you. But if it's your first time in my town and you disappear on me without saying a word, I think I have a right to get suspicious. Just my opinion.

From my personal experience, people who are inclined to use proper grammar and longer sentences tend to be more trustworthy. Now, that doesn't mean misspellings instantly mean thievery, or vice versa. I think it's because people who do take hybrids/fruit without permission usually just say "hi" and then run off, leaving that impression. Could just be me, though.

Yeah, that does seem to be the pattern. If someone like Justin came to my town, I'd be floored.

It's irritating when you open your gates for a single person and a flood of unexpected people come through. It's like, I did not invite you over here. I know the gate's open but my gosh, have some courtesy.

I pop in uninvited all the time. It does not mean that I'm going to come to trash a town. I figure if the gate is open, then that is the invitation to come over. It is what I expect of my friends as well (so if you are friends with Dawn from BlueMoon....there is your invite to come over ). If you don't want someone coming, talk to Porter when the invitees arrive and close the gate to new travelers.

Problem is, sometimes the uninvited guest arrives first. xD Just an annoyance I guess. But some people are ok with people coming over when the gate is open so it's hard to really know.

I've only had one bad experience so far. Some kid asked to explore my town after a trade and I figured why not...caught him stealing gold roses seconds later.

Apart from that though I've found most people to be quite respectful and polite.

It's just when I'm trying to do a single trade with someone who isn't on my BF list, 2 other people unexpectedly show up and usually it crashes the server and I get errors. Then I reopen to finish my trade and the same people come through. Like Lin said, it's not really a pet peeve I guess, just an annoyance. And I wasn't implying that they'd destroy my town; I could really care less about that because I can just fix it all.

I didn't know you could close the gates to new travelers though! I may have to try that next time. Thanks! Provided that the unexpected people don't show up first xD

You guys need to report these people in the "Blacklist" thread. It needs to be known that they're horrible people who have zero respect for their fellow gamers.

Nothing pisses me off more than these immature losers who have nothing better to to than knowingly mess up someone else's town. Thankfully nothing like that has happened to me...yet. The closest thing to an offense is someone pulling up my beloved clovers (yeah technically they're weeds but I like mine, and had planted several lucky clover intentionally). But he put the lucky ones back and the others grew back next spring, so no harm done.

Probably because they had watered the wilted flowers, which will then come back the next day. I would be ticked off too if I had spent the time watering them for someone to come out and pluck them out.

I do the same, but I don't wander away from the train station until I'm sure the town owner knows I'm there and is OK with me exploring their town. There's always the chance they are way from their 3DS for a moment, and hiking off uninvited is too much like walking into someone's real life house and snooping around.
