Anyone regret where they've placed permanent PWPs or Mayor home? I do! I love my current town but I've placed my house in a really awkward spot. It's placed in the very top corner of town near the waterfall area. My plan was that I'd place my house here and later put a bridge so this would be easier on me but when I went to put a bridge Isabelle kept saying this was too close to my house. Now there is a skinny strip of land and a large lake area that I have to walk all the way around to get to the bridge.

I'm having an issue with the location of my campsite. Luckily I haven't build it yet, but I don't know where to and its driving me nuts.

Another thing would be the house placement. No matter when I put it, I always regret, knowing that I could have found a better location -- even if I couldn't. I just wish there stuff weren't permanent so that you didn't have to feel like there was no going back; that kind of feeling runs through animal crossing quite often, which could be a slight game killer in a sense.

I kind of regret where I put my mayor's house. I placed it near the train station so it would be a short walk to get there, but just far south enough so that I couldn't see the train station. The problem is that my house is one space too far west so I have a path going south right next to the west side that does not align with a bridge because of a bend in the river. It is not a huge deal, but I have completely straight paths throughout my whole town and the one path going beside my house has to shift just a little to access the bridge which is kind of irritating for my OCD. I don't regret where I placed my permanent PWPs because I thought long and hard before I actually built them.

I wish I had never put in a police station. It's useless to me, and it's not in a very good spot. I just had to learn to live with it.

When I built my campsite I intentionally made it in an isolated area and was planning to surround it with trees and shrubs. Since then three villagers (all dreamies) moved in and basically surrounded it. It's kind of funny because when there's a camper, it blends in and just looks like another (albeit shabby) house on the street.

That being said I would absolutely change it now if I could.

I'm pretty happy with where I put my house, near Re-Tail and not too far away from the ocean. But when I went into Roald's house and discovered if I'd built right towards the edge of the cliff I'd have been able to hear waves crashing in my home I was kind of: "No! A wasted opportunity!" I don't think I'll re-set, but if I ever make a new town I am so building as close to the ocean as possible.

I don't care.

I pick a spot, and never look back.

So strong hahah

For me, I haven't built any PWPs in town yet...
I figured I'd build them after I get hold of all my dreamies so I can built the PWPs around their houses... I didn't wanna regret where I put the police station and the campsite afterwards ll"OTL

But I think having a couple of permanent things in the game is ok... Kinda like real life... Cannot undo... I don't think I'll regret where I've put the houses in my game, just gotta learn to live with it I think.

I built a house near the ocean, and the waves do sound nice, but if it were my main character's house there, I might get annoyed with it eventually if I spent enough time in the house remodeling. Also, the background noise may not go very well with some themes.

In my very first town, yup. Mayor's house was below the Train Station and covering up the land behind it because of the house which made it pretty hard to work with. Also regret building the Police Station and Reset Center at the places, not really fitting in with the town either. My only other main regret in my first town was screwing up plot resetting. Francine's house landed right in front of the Cafe, Merengue's house was near the cliff, Octavian's house was on the outskirts of the town, and Marshal moved into a place where I wanted to put a PWP around.

The only thing that bothers me in my current town is that I put temporary cobblestone bridges, then plot resetted for my villagers and one of them was moving a bit below and to the left of the closest bridge. I demolished that bridge to replace it with another better looking one, and Isabelle kept telling me that it was too close to the resident's home. It still works out though, but it would've been nice to have the new bridge built exactly in the place where the old one was.

I regretted some permanent things in all of my previous towns. It was mainly the cafe in my first town. The placement was really akward because it blocked the path to this narrow strip of land. I didn't place my house well either but I could probably have made it work if I had landscaped. I didn't get that far though because there were other flaws in the town so I reset.

At first I loved my house placement in my second town because it was so isolated and nice. I didn't have a bridge nearby so I decided to demolish the nearest to my house and build it closer to it. Well guess if it worked! The same thing happened to me that happened to you too. When I realized I couldn't build it closer, I tried to build it where it has before but Isabelle didn't let me. There was a dream villager's house in the way. So I just built it where I could but it really started to feel like a chore to run all the way to the bridge to get anywhere. Also I put my campsite too near both the cliff and train tracks. And I didn't think my cafe's placement through either. : D

My third town was okay but there was a small thing that really bothered me. I built the cafe right next to Town Hall but they didn't line up! The cafe was one space back. That was maybe the most annoying thing of these all to me. ...It was why I reset once again. But the good thing is that I don't regret anything in my current town! I knew which map I wanted and I knew where I wanted to put all of the permanent things. Now I have placed the campsite and cafe and their placements are as good as they can be. The same goes to my house too. It's a bit inconvenient now since I have yet to build a second bridge, but once that's done all should be well. The only thing I don't know is where I'll built my alter's house. I'd like to make one but I'll need to be sure about the spot first. Would be stupid to screw up my town now that I'm finally happy with everything.
Anyway, take my mile long historic of everything that ever happened in all of my towns. D:

I'm happy with the placement of all my houses and permanent structures in the sense that, when I'm walking around my town, they are all in nice locations surrounded by pretty landscaping.

I don't always like the way they appear on the bottom screen mini-map, though. They seem unbalanced and awkwardly placed.

I'm a perfectionist in a big way, so I doubt it'll ever stop annoying me. Honestly, I wish I had the option to turn off the mini-map. I feel like it's mocking me. Yeesh.

After I restarted for the second time, I knew what a good layout was. After so many tries getting a good one, I found one that I've never regretted. I have the river moving straight through the middle of the town. Coincidentally, the middle of the river bends down from the right, goes towards the beach, and bends up again literally like a rectangular puzzle piece. There's so much land to work with for PWPs and I'm so, so happy.

For my house, I'm also pretty happy with it. Diagonal from the second bend in the river, there's a bunch of space for paths and flowers, and to the left, up in the area near the waterfall, I'm planning on putting a lighthouse right in the corner and the campsite in the other, surrounded by trees. I haven't put in the police station yet, so thank goodness I didn't put it somewhere stupid.

The only thing that bothers me is that how some of my villagers seem to like moving in right next to the cliff, rendering that spot useless for some good PWPs. As soon as they move out I'm dancing on their graves. Well, sort of. I'm glad how my town worked out for me.

I love the spot of my mayor's house right now because I don't know that if I placed it anywhere else I couldn't have a good looking town xD
I actually don't regret any of the placements at all because I like having some crowed spots in my town like for example my Town Hall is right behind my plaza, behind the Town Hall is the Cafe, and to the right of the Cafe is the police station, right infront of the Police station is Kabuki's house. It look's good when you see it for yourself c:

I'm restarting because of the placement of some of my permanent buildings that I no longer like. I wish I had put my mayors house somewhere else. I initially liked the idea that it would be out of the way and have it's own area, but now it just seems so lonely. :c I also built my police station too close to my path, and the door causes a gap in the pathing now which bothers me to no end (i forgot that you need 2 spaces for that). The same sort of goes for my cafe, but that one didn't bother me as much because the path was easier to move.
