Permanent bald patches?

I know that walking over the same area of grass for a long time can cause the grass to deteriorate into dirt patches, but there are some areas of my town where grass just won't grow at ALL, no matter how long I stay off of them. Are permanent bald patches a thing? Is there any way to get grass to grow there, or am I just stuck with giant barren dirt patches in my town forever?

Every town has random dirt patches that will never grow grass. They exist and are set once you set up your town. I have had dirt patches in areas and it's been a year so..

Yup, when I made my second town there were already some pre-made dirt patches

Yyyyeeeeeaahhh, it kinda makes me wish I knew that before I decided to put my house right next to one. All this time I've thought to myself that it'll grow back, but that ain't the case, lol

I feel you there. The bare patches will never grow grass. All you can do is cope with it. At least it's not as bad as it was in wild world. Half of the bloody map was dirt. Those were dark times.
