This is quite useful. Thank you.Reddit user N8vtxn has made some wonderful flower mixes.
Personally, I just combine flowers by trial and error until I'm happy with how they look. Before I start, though, I think about if I want a combination that is more complementary (blue + yellow + green) or contrasting (orange + blue). Usually, I base the flower arrangement palette on the building it's closest to.
I also tend to put "fuller" body flowers (pansies, cosmos, windflowers, roses, mums) adjacent to the thinner ones (hyacinths, lillies, tulips). There is no method to my madness -- I just think this looks nicer. XD
I got rid of my green mums now I wish I kept them! I'll keep this mind!red and blue hyacinths with green mums go perfect around able sisters![]()
I love the way this sounds! My island is only decorated with hyacinths, and they all look great together especially the purple, blue, yellow, orange, white and pink. With hydrangea bushes, it’s even better. I wish they bloomed all year![]()
I will keep this in mind.I find that white and pink windflowers along with white and pink hyacinths accent beaches really really nicely if you want to keep with the light color of sand, but of course this is just my personal opinion =^.^=
Wow this is impressive! While I do mix my flowers, because there's just so many and I feel like I need to make use of them all, there's something extremely appealing about just an entire field filled with one flower of one color, especially yellow for me since that's my favorite.
I found that out randomly by dumping all of my flowers in front of my house, as well as displaying some of my items I didn't have storage space for, and my yellow lilies (my favorite flower + color!) cloned like crazy, filling the entire section and all the way around my sphinx and bamboo grasses. And it looked... really beautiful actually. So now I'm brainstorming as to how the hell I'm going to squeeze that into an area of my already fully planned island.
Another thing I noticed "on accident" was that blue windflowers are a REALLY nice contrast on the beaches. Didn't plan for this either, I just had a full inventory and I had to go there for a while, but now I am committing to it full-time it seems.
As for combinations, I like to mostly pair the same type of flower with different colors, as I haven't really figured out what shapes look good together yet. But I randomly dumped some pink and orange tulips with orange and yellow pansies and some blue windflowers in an area, and it looks very tropical and not all that bad. Might have to experiment with that.

At last, I leave you all with this handy chart that puts all flower's colors on a spectrum, maybe it'll be helpful in someone's flower arranging endeavours (really wish I knew what social media that credit handle belongs to, so I can actually drop a link...)
Noted! I'll try this.gold roses + white roses + white cosmos is my all-time favorite combo ☺
also pink hyacinths + most flowers is super cute as well
This sounds like the perfect space theme combo!! I must use this.I think my absolute favorite combination is purple and white hyacinths with some pink ones mixed in.
