I have three towns. In theory. (4, but I'm giving my boyfriend his copy back once I empty my holding town.)I have my main, a basically established second, and a newly started third that I'm collecting villagers for. I've been having a bit of a hard time getting things done in the other non-main towns for some reason. I think it's just the repetitive dialogue on how to do things. "Here's how to stack fruit." "Here's how to switch tools." And having to unlock everything again.

I'm getting a bit overwhelmed, I guess? I spend a lot of time in my main since it's finally coming together. My second town could easily be developed, if I started to devote more time to it. I thought I could handle it, but I think I was wrong. I think 2 is maybe my limit, lol. I only wanted so many towns because I love so many villagers and have so many ideas. But it's kind of discouraging because I suck at management and my boyfriend is like, "See? I told you, lol. You just needed one town."

How do you guys keep up?
I guess I should have "finished" a town before trying to start a new one?

I have three towns:
Versails-the one I started with. Every day I just do the day's work and the chores then call it a night. It must stay perfect
Caelum-project town. Working to make it look good enough, do my days work then quit
Area9-TT town, no need to be perfect. This satisfies my need for playing ALL THE TIME since the other two are real time

I have two towns.
There is Gluten my first town. I have finished it and have most of my favorite villagers so I just check in everyday, do upkeep, make sure my villagers are happy, check the shops, etc.
Then there is the new town, Haven, I have had it for a month or so and it needs tons of work. That is the town that I do most of my trading of villagers at. I spend tons of time there trying to figure out what it needs. Its the fun town for me right now. I am a little afraid of what will happen when this town is done. I imagine it will be time to start the original town over again.

Honestly I barely manage my cycle town. It's too difficult and its unnecessary in my opinion to stress yourself out. Even if you have many ideas it takes such a long time to finish even ONE town. Im excited and nervous to start developing mine but also scared because I don't know where to start. Just spend equal time on the least important towns and just spend the most in your most important town.

I play on my main town for about an hour, then cycle the rest of the time.

I don't do it very well, I guess. I have a couple of favourite towns that when I can I play for a few hours of at a time. Then I have a few I trade with myself in (I have a couple of 3DS's thanks to my hubby) and grow perfect fruit in and do slow villager cycling.

I want to start a hybrid town but I really need to grasp the basics of how to grow them first.

I now am beginning to use one to TT with and just plain play around with and try fun stuff without worry of who leaves or anything like that.

My time is very limited these days, what with moving with my husband to another state and taking in my elderly aunt. The time to get this house done for how we want and need it is very time-consuming but I need to play ACNL to relax. Also, I've just injured myself and have to slow down so I'll have a bit more time to play as I heal.

So...I guess I can't keep up "properly" per se, but I do insist to myself that I have fun. And my extra games were given to me as gifts and a couple were abandoned by a bored husband and nephew who played it for a bit and didn't care for it. And I just can't let them sit unused and unloved!

I've got two towns as a lot of players seem to have. My main is Vanaheim which is one I don't TT on and play it as the days go by. I go through phases of obsessively playing it, and then only playing it for about half an hour or less each day.
My second town is on a physical cartridge and I'm constantly resetting it. Currently it's got a town called Ignisea on it but I'm planning on resetting it. I usually mess about on my side town and steal villagers for my main hehe. I ignore my side town more than my main so it's great for weed pulling.
I don't know how people can upkeep anymore than two perfect towns. I guess it'd help if I didn't have other games to play.

I have four.
Rosewood I got back at release.
Eclipse I got in Jan.
Seaside I got in Feb.
Moonview I got in Mar.

I'd say I play them all equal. Some days I play all four...some days I'll play two one day and the other two the next day.
I don't know I just play the towns I feel like playing. Rosewood is mostly done except two houses. The other towns need a lot of work. I find it fun decorating the town.

I can't imagine how you people cope. I have one town and one character and that's more than enough work for me!

I have 6.
I focus now on 2 each day. Since the average time I have a villager want to leave is every 3-5 days, I make sure I play each at least once within that time period.
My cycle town is checked every few days so I don't get that "where'd ya go" dialogue

I have only one town because of that, I'd probably end up being frustrated by having to go through all the beginning stuff all over again. On the other hand, if I had a second town I'd make it much more planned and themed, so I'd find it helpful to have a "main" town to play in normally when I got tired of planning everything.

I have two towns, and when I got the second, I intended it to just be a cycling town, but then I got villagers I like and the layout is good and...

Basically, I live and breathe animal crossing (I need an intervention)

It's easier for me I think because I stopped time traveling in my main town. I open up, water my flowers and check my shops for the day, and then I talk to villagers and stuff, but most of my play time lately is going to my second town because I time travel.

same thing sort of happened to me. i started my second town when i still had things left to do in sunniday and as a result ended up essentially getting bored of/ignoring my second town since i obviously am more attached to and prefer my first town. i since gave away my second copy to a friend who wanted to start playing ACNL, but now that i've essentially finished sunniday i'm wanting another town to work on again. i think i will get another one again once i've completely finished my houses in sunniday and changed out a few villagers and maybe changed my paths. there's still so much to do in my main town even though i've finished it so i feel like i'm always going to want to play in that one first above any, even when i've finished everything. xD

at any rate, maybe focus on finishing your first town and then once you've done that, work on another one for a while?
