I've heard some people ask me what's so good about animal crossing! This is usually how it goes!

Person: What's so good about animal crossing?
Me: Well you see its fun because you run your own town of anima-
Person: Hah! Already sounds gay!
Me: OH YAH!?! LIKE ****ING CALL OF DUTY IS BETTER! ILL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT-
Person: Dude, calm down
Me: DONT TELL ME TO CAAAALM DOWN!

What have people said to you about it?

My friends don't even know I play, aha! No-one ever talks to me about it, so maybe that's a good thing!

Nintendo fan our towns have the same name. One time I'll have to visit so the game says Mikey from Hyrule arrived in Hyrule!

My friend said that game is weird. :c

Did you say, "Oh, so you've actually played it enough to know all about it?"

If they say yes, then you can ask what is "weird" about it. Actually, that could have turned into an interesting and fun conversation.

Of course, if your friend was just exhuming smoke out of his/her orifice, then you can ignore it as a judgment based on absolutely nothing. :)

No one's ever made a big deal about the games I play, because I don't associate with childish people.

She judged it off the advert. The advert is amazing though ;-; She's one of those people who keep repeating her opinion ugh

Wow my friends envy me for having new leaf ._. and I've actually never had anyone ask me this either aha

I have had a few people ask why I play it because it sounds weird. I just say that they don't know unless they try. Every person I have made play the game has ended up loving it.

I get a look from my boss when me and a friend here at work talk about it. I got her into it and shes hooked. We just call ourselves nerds and laugh.

a few of my friends don't get it

One of them is a guy who plays a bunch of video games that are considered "manly." He has a bit of a crush on me and is always bragging to his guy friends about us being close. Before the game was released I wrote a status on my Facebook saying that I couldn't wait for my game to be shipped. He commented with something along the lines of "Don't tell me that you're into that stuff. I'm losing you"

The other time I was sleeping over at a friend's house. After a while of us talking she got into boyfriend texting mode and ignored me completely. I took out my 3DS and started playing. Eventually she asked what the game was about and when I explained I could tell that she thought that it was childish. She didn't say anything, but I could tell. I love her, but she is one of those girls that are into fashion, celebrity gossip, and all of that stuff. I can tell that she thinks that I'm immature for not being into the same things as her. A few weeks after that incident she went to my house and seemed to have changed her mind about the game though. She was doing an internship at a hospital and one of the doctors working there was playing the game. The fact that the person playing was so fashionable and successful made her change her mind.

My mom also seemed adverse to it at first. I talked to her a lot about the game when I first started playing, and her response was always "And what did you accomplish in the real world?" But after I told her about Crazy Redd she changed her mind completely. My mom is really into art, so she was really into figuring out which artworks were legitimate. She also likes the educational aspects of the game like the fact that you can go into the museum and read about the fossils and fish/bugs.

My man always makes cute little remarks about me playing or sometimes he'll grab my 3ds and go around digging holes or something for a few second then he'll be like here have this back I don't get it. I think its too cute. He just knows that I love playing as it relaxes me after a long day of work. He has called me his cute little dork as I was on the fourms and playing ac.

I think my friends and classmates do think it is a bit childish, but they make more fun of my addiction than of the fact that I play the game. ^^;

If they're not into it, whatever. A few of them have tried, and it's just not their thing. What can ya do? :/

So fashion and celebrity gossip isn't childish? Wow...I'm old, then. I could not care less about celebrities, their gossip, or their fashions.

However, I DO seem to care quite a bit about my mayor's and villagers' fashion... :D

He sounds like a jerk :L

Hah, i don't know what kind of people are you socializing with, but the worst thing i've heard about me playing AC is "how can you stand that annoying noise they make when they talk", the rest of the people (and i really mean it) either don't care or actually play the game/want it.

Have you thought about changing your social circles?
